    $100 trillion dollars in derivatives

I trade derivaties for myself and I give technicals out to hedge funds, institutional brokers, and floor brokers down on the NYMEX in the Natural Gas and Crude pits.

    $100 trillion dollars in derivatives

I too agree that delta neutral hedging does not accomplish enough. Going delta neutral only creates an illusion that you are safe from harm. I can think a dozens of examples where futures hedge funds have gone bust due to delta neutral hedging. Once you are margined out to the nth degree, all of...

    Poll: % Total Return % 2002

Janitor, look into trading futures. You can easily flip that $16Gs into $64Gs. My first MONTH trading minis, I flipped $12Gs into $33Gs. No problem. Consistent returns everyday.

    $100 trillion dollars in derivatives

Bondtrader, I really do think that big banks have suppresed the price of Gold. There was also a lawsuit by a New Orleans firm that was delivered to JPM a couple of weeks ago, accusing the big bank of illegally suppressing the price of gold futures. So it is almost a fact that big banks have...

    $100 trillion dollars in derivatives

M22au, I just have a nasty amount of puts and shorts on equities. I don't actually touch Gold, but I do follow it. I let my equities side of my portfolio ride the longer term, and I daytrade futures.

    $100 trillion dollars in derivatives

I'll admit I'm pretty bearish, and this is one of the reasons why I am very bearish. I think that the reserve ratio of many banks could be anywhere in the -50% to - 150% due to derivatives (yes, those are negatives). So if the price of gold keeps pushing higher and one of these banks fail...

    Bordom and over-trading

Ice my man, I lost a butt-load of money when I first started. I was able to figure out this style of trading after losing money and going through the pain. But thank you for trying to keep my head on straight!!! I have to say that the only thing now that keeps me from making money is my...

    Bordom and over-trading

I'm so glad that I've found people who agree with me on this topic, especially because of the "real traders" that have given me a bunch of crap for not trading all day long. Good luck to you all.

    Options on futures brokers

But don't you pay more for futures options because of the spot size of the futures lot? We discussed leverage in this thread. BTW, I did tell people to buy dec 25 calls on crude when it dipped below $25. Nobody listened to me. I only trade equity options and spread on the OSX are terrible...

    Bordom and over-trading

Yeah, those times are eastern. And I think that you reduce your stress greatly if you do not spend a lot of time in front of the charting screens. This is my opinion on day trading: I think that trading can be a sickness, and I have the balls, some would say the audacity, to say that...

    Options on futures brokers

If you had longed the dec or jan 25 calls on crude when it was at $24.80...you'd be up so much that the commissions wouldn't matter.

    Bordom and over-trading

My most profitable months trading have days that go like this: Start trading 8:30AM Finish trading 10:00 AM Play video games immediately after trading. (This is the key) Go to the gym and lift weights Write in my journal about how I made money that day. Play Tony Hawk Pro Skater...

    get ride of my ego

Tell you what, I'm a pretty damn good analyst. I even call turning points to exact numbers all of the time, and I'm almost always right on target. I still have a hard time listening to my own calls, while others profit huge off of what I say. Trading and market analysis are two different...

    Mini-Dow futures

I trade these sizes in e-mini S&P 500 contracts, 20+. I was just wondering what MMs could handle on the mini dow futures because I'm considering buying seats on exchanges. That's all. So I don't think that there is anything wrong with me asking these questions.

    Mini-Dow futures

Or maybe MMs, would fill you and hedge with the biggies...maybe that wouldn't work so well.

    Mini-Dow futures

You guys think it is possible to move markets with big size on mini dow futures??? I mean, if you scaled in 1000 lots, you could kill traders out there. What you guys think?
