The Koch brothers are buying oil for -$0.50 per barrel

The -.50 bid was a mistake. Leave it to Business Insider (and apparently Oilprice.com) to publish a mistake as fact and a day late. OP is a pretty blatant plagiarism of the original Bloomberg article. The North Dakota Crude Oil That's Worth Almost Nothing

OTC markets... CME Clearport... how does one begin trading OTC derivatives?

While the ERP is a good place to start (I have one), you will need do to quite a bit more research into the market, not to mention the $10 million required to spec.

"Nothing Is Moving," Baltic Dry Crashes As Insiders Warn "Commerce Has Come To A Halt"

It's over capacity in the shipping market. The Baltic index is not the world's pulse. This is the danger of ignorance. AIS tracking is limited to coastal areas. To say there are "no ships in transit anywhere in the world" is laughable and the epitome of not understanding your subject matter.

    Contango is back

Disappointed by the dilution, but delighted with the merger. Market fundamentals have weakened in the short term from Nigerian issues and Iran releasing some vessels from storage, but the FFA YTD average remains strong and the forward curve for the remainder of 2015 is healthy. I have also...

    Contango is back

Of all the energy complex, I think LNG is the most over-valued energy source relative to everything else. The long side is still the riskier in my view.

    Contango is back

Alittle late on the commentary, but VLCC freight rates fell in late July after Nigeria banned ~18% of the global fleet from entering its waters. A sudden surge in available supply has the effect one would expect on prices. While they gave no official reason for the ban, I suspect it had to do...
