Thanks makloda. It seems to me that N225 has not been able to surpass old high because somehow earnings is not growing. There is no earnings growth in 2 decades.

can u also post the p/e chart for the Dow or sp500? N225 valuation in the 80s is p/e50...crazy stuff. How much would the Dow be on that kind of p/e? Probably 40,000?

Thanks for all replies. The purpose of this thread is actually to question whether it is viable to start looking at investing in US. There are bargains everywhere. But when I look at the N225, I always hesitate to buy even at current prices because I cannot understand why N225 cannot recover...

If inflation goes up, SP500 should also go, though in nominal terms. This is what the Japanese did. They reduce rates to zero. BUT there is no inflation. And the N225 did no go up. So, who's to say that we HAVE to go up, that there must be severe inflation, since we pump in so much liquidity...
