Quote stop updating at eod when volume spikes up

yes. Been happening quite a bit. I've only noticed it on spikes in activity. Other two data vendors are not affected. For me it often happens at 3:55 ish. The data can be behind or stop for 15-30 seconds but then it catches back up. Hopefully it is temporary.

Breaking: Interactive Brokers lite commission free

Exactly. This is not for existing users. Just like that recent marketing campaign "Bet, Learn, Win". Nothing in this for "active" existing customers who use the tws/api. 20+ years of loyalty and constant 6 figure commissions paid and nothing in this for me (once again). On some level I feel...

Interactive Brokers introduces free zero commission trading platform.

ya no kidding. this is a joke no tws, no api, and only zero commissions on stock. maybe this is just a first step but no serious trader will consider this.

Why isn't IB up here defending themselves?

This is why I've been with IB for over 20 years. Although the commission rates are competitive I have been offered option rates that are half of what I pay at IB from two reputable firms (not a zero commission broker). And that would equate to 6 figures of savings for me. All the other...

First good experience with power outage in 16 years full time trading

lol. I read the title (power outage: 16 years ago) and thought the thread was about the major power outage of 2003 (16 years ago tomorrow). Power went out just after the close if I recall. I will never forget it. Wife went into labor minutes later and daughter number three was born that...

BYND, Short call assigned on hard to borrow on Interactive Broker

Bottom line is this is the way it has always worked. You just haven't noticed it previously. As I said - you could have been charged 3 days worth of interest and the borrow rate isn't determined until the settlement day so these types of trades are very risky and "you" have no control over...

BYND, Short call assigned on hard to borrow on Interactive Broker

so tempting to buy the stock synthetically at a large discount and then sell deep calls or do a complete box (with deep call). IB did nothing wrong. The day they are exercised is the "trade date". You just don't find out till the next day. But 99% of all these deep BYND options are being...

    COTY buy-write implications on Tender

the Conversion market is suggesting that the tender is worth about 15-.20 per share. This market locks in a loss on the non-tendered shares. ie you lose .15 on 80% of your shares that are not sold in the tender and you make .35 on 20% of your shares that are tendered. The market is however...

Looking for a IB programmer (Excel)

You need to see the whole marketplace when you are doing different types of arbitrage. I'd never do well looking at one market (not my thing)

Looking for a IB programmer (Excel)

My programming experience is limited to Excel (I'm >50). I'm not competing with the sub second traders so I'm happy with data that is at 1990 standards. Excel was the standard in those days - heck we used to run our Index Arb using Excel. Our program trading would run alphabetically so once...

Looking for a IB programmer (Excel)

ZBZB: I appreciate your response. I have used upwork/freelancer many times over the years and my experience has been less than good overall. I did the search a couple days ago and found the same guy and he was honest about it saying: "This looks like an interesting project, but I am...

NxCore data feed on QUODD is unusable

fbell50: Sorry it has been a headache for you. It was also for me at the end of 2018 but it has been working very well for the last 2/3 months for the functionality I currently require. I'm still waiting for the full OPRA feed to be added. Hopefully soon. good luck

Looking for a IB programmer (Excel)

Hi: IB just came out with functionality in their latest API (975) that allows for new market scanners. Although it works in the new sample activeX spreadsheet - it isn't robust for larger data sets. I require the data in Excel. Send me a private message if you are interested and I will send...

Why with 3Mil in positions are no stocks are being lent

I will give you my two cents. Like you said it was about .20-.25 cents and then all of a sudden it popped. The arb was to buy the LLY conversion locking in a loss on the shares you didn't get converted for ELAN shares and you would also buy the ELAN march $40 conversion and sell the shares...

Why with 3Mil in positions are no stocks are being lent

yes very good observations in this thread. This is one of the "hidden" ways brokers make money off your positions. Longs and Shorts are separated. Any amount borrowed and its up to them what shares they take for themselves. I had a similar situation with a TLRY position when the rates were...
