    Why are TSLA Dec18 680 calls quoted at $0.10 / $0.20?

S&P 500 rebalancing today. Index funds in at $695 (have a nice day) And most knuckleheads can't beat the S&P 500. Stock was 10% lower at 3:45 and approx 20% lower when announced. You couldn't screw it up even if you tried too. Free Money!!! To answer your question: Stock was technically...

I can not log in to TWS either visit its website.any one has same issue?

I just got into all my accounts (lol) Anyhow, tough day for IB customers. I'm not making excuses for them but I have never had a significant connection issue in over 20 years. Also, I believe most of the customer reps are working from home so this would be especially difficult for everyone...

    USD vs CAD for Canadians

I'm Canadian but 99% of my trading is in the US. So virtually all my funds are in US dollars but I hedge a portion by buying CAD futures. So, I'm consistently in the 50/50 range. Why? (Just as a hedge) It is kind of funny how the CAD$ moves with the equity market. A $400 billion deficit...

    Biogen halted, options expiring today.

I did not read all the previous posts but this is the type of risk people like me are most afraid of. This is a - "when an ARB isn't an ARB". This is why I typically will not do too much of any one security (keeping the notional value below a certain % of my capital as I have previously...

Another day trader bites the dust

Arb trading. some minimum risk positions (ie. Conversions). some risk arb. Virtually zero delta every night. Overnight Margin usually around 2% of capital mainly equity and equity options but I will do some futures as well

Another day trader bites the dust

Here are the main reasons why I continue to make money virtually every day for the last 30 years (22 years from home). 1) Market policy (Government): ie Markets flooded with activity. A guy like Bernie Sanders (if he could do everything he wants) would change this 2) Market structure...

    Madoff clients to return profits

not uncommon to go after fraudulent insiders and those who helped insiders. ie Civil lawsuits against Worldcom, Bre-X and Enron went after the insiders and the banks that were recommending the purchase of shares. I have not seen any successful attempt of "non insiders" going after "non...

    Madoff clients to return profits

Although this is a little different - the answer is unfortunately - yes. I did some trades 5+ years ago in Sears and in their respective rights offering. I've done nothing wrong (non insider) but I did profit from these transactions and the profit had nothing to do with fraud that I was aware...

Safely ITM options > brief underlying spike at 4:00pm = now OTM. What happened? Seems fishy.

last post on this: MOC moves are common every day. just look at the link I provided - find the big imbalances and you will see the equity move right at 3:40. On month end/qtr end and some option expirations the moves can be much larger (like this one). Often these expiry related trades on...

Safely ITM options > brief underlying spike at 4:00pm = now OTM. What happened? Seems fishy.

The TSX has included LOC with MOC orders with respect to market imbalance. So - lets say at 3:39:59 (stock is at 16.50- someone enters an order to buy 5 million shares at 16.51 (LOC)) - it would initially show an imbalance of 5 million shares and the stock would go up more than one penny. The...

Safely ITM options > brief underlying spike at 4:00pm = now OTM. What happened? Seems fishy.

lol Ya some guy decided to buy 5 million shares of stock MOC so the 100 contracts of OI would be dust... you have lots to learn if you think this is fraud. This happens all the time in the US as well. if dOrian was paying attention he would have seen the buy imbalance and higher reference...

Safely ITM options > brief underlying spike at 4:00pm = now OTM. What happened? Seems fishy.

Just so you are aware - the rules for MOC orders are changing (in the next couple months). Lots of BS games are currently played - so they are trying some new things. It will start at 3:50 and there will be a freeze period as well.

Safely ITM options > brief underlying spike at 4:00pm = now OTM. What happened? Seems fishy.

That sucks. Those were MOC orders. Imbalance info can be found here: (at 3:40 each day) https://tsx.com/trading/market-data-and-statistics/market-statistics-and-reports/moc-imbalances/tsx-moc-imbalances fyi: There can be some huge imbalances on the monthly expiry and month ends. That trade...
