Why do these idiots not give a rats arse about price of oil

Intraday movements in oil futures indicate that it is driven by speculation not demand. Look at thursday, oil dropped $2 for no reason and closed close to open. Do you think the world demand or supply changed in such a short time period? The best way to bring oil prices down is to provide an...

This is the last move for Crude --shaping up just like the wheat trade!

In the worst hurricane season, Oil went to $70 from high $50s. Why would this season push it up by full $50? There are some who did not call the bottom right and missed buying at the lows. They are pushing up the price of oil because it acts as a resistance to stocks moving higher. We...

    Baidu Melt Down

Nobody thought BIDU will trade as low as 202 and nobody can forecast how high it will go.

BIDU may fall 36% - Oppenheimer

Option expiration related trading is not a good indicator of target price. BIDU is oversold

Fed cuts 75bps, Gold drops $25?

That way everything can be priced in dollars including loonies, Oz$ etc. In fact, if there was no correlation, you would not have a cross.

Fed cuts 75bps, Gold drops $25?

Gold had become a proxy to short the dollar essentially creating a new currency cross GLD:USD. It was insane. It should come down another $200/ounce

    Fcx

They bought commodities in anticipation of inflation. But to sustain the price rise, we would need inflation at 10% clip.

    Time 2 load up goog

Commodity complex caused the market to go down and took techs down with it. Tech is the only part of the economy which is helped by a falling dollar. Tech imports deflation due to falling dollar and export inflation. Hopefully soon the market will figure this out.

Is BSC worth more than $1 next week?

The capital ratios for BSC do not support "buy them cheaper later". They report on Monday.

Time to start building China shorts

The health of Shanghai stock market and Hang Seng is not a good indicator of the economy right now. As I asked who is RIO (CVRD) is exporting to if the economy is cold? I suspect those guys are engineering the market to peak around the time of olympics as it will look good. Not having any...

BIDU may fall 36% - Oppenheimer

Downgrading search is like downgrading internet. More people are on internet than any other subscription service. In developing countries, the first english word that people learn is "Google". Wait till the earnings and all critics will be silenced. Until then take your best shot.

BIDU may fall 36% - Oppenheimer

Or may be they have been retained by Microsoft or AOL to acquire chinese properties. 36% downside from here will make Bidu a very good acquisition

Time to start building China shorts

If China is slowing down who is driving the sales at RIO in Brazil? The demise of China Bull is greatly exagerated.

    GOOG suckers

I really will urge you to visit goog's datacenter if you can. I don't think VC capital exists for that much equipment. On top of that it is all custom designed with proprietary OS. You cannot replicate Goog's algorithms i.e. even if you get the capital you won't get the people. Just think...

    GOOG suckers

Cost of entry into Goog's business is so high as to make it impossible for someone to enter. Goog's datacenter has 20x more data than walmart. When it comes to Goog ever dip is a buying opportunity until it hits 300B in market cap.

CAPM is way too simplistic for valuing a stock. In fact, I never saw that model used outside of a few classes I took a decade ago. Stick with multiples. Even in a recessionary environment, companies have earnings. How much would you pay for those earnings? In a recessionary...

Consumer debt as a percent of income is not at outrageous levels. You can check on the fed's website for DSR and FOR numbers. In fact, it is down in q307 from q207. The increase in those two metrics in since 2004 over previous 5 years is simply because of increase in home ownership...
