    Set Up Data System

Hi, I'm helping a friend to select a data system. This is for light/moderate trading, mostly commodities and equity index. The broker is IB. He is happy with it and will stay with it. Of course, the TWS is not adequate enough. He will continue to use IB for order and portfolio management...

Need recommendation for setting up multiple monitors on one PC

Depend on what you trade. If you trade stocks, you may need quite a few displays. But if you trade only certain sector, I do not see you need more than 4 displays. This applies to energy, metal, agriculture, and other sectors. May be FX also. I can't manage 20 displays all at once :p

    NG CL spread

Is this a contrarian strategy? I would have ton of loss if I had followed this. CL is closely related to global economy, or the equity market. If global economy shrinks again, I see CL dropping somehow. But what is the prediction for US and Euro GDPs? And the global GDP? Most predictons are...

    NG CL spread

In today's market, there is little correction. Some traders still trade the old way, but it is not working. They are two uncorrelated energy products.

•Verleger Says Oil to Collapse to $20 This Year on `Devastating' Crude Glut

    Nat Gas

There is always get-around with new regulation, including the NG total return swaps. Ask the energy folks, who needs gas now? The only folks who have room are the traders who wants to buy $2.20 gas to fill the storage. And they will wait....

    Newbie's question on Nymex volume

IB charges $5.5 RT flat rate on the full size CL or NG contract. It is a decent rate for that size.

Trade the EIA Summary of Weekly Petroleum Data

Pros would try to stay away from the EIA days. As in your long analysis, it is hard to predict the market reactions. For directional traders, they would keep positions well below the daily tolerance/stop loss level. Setting stop loss is a bad idea since the big swings can take the stops with...

    Nat Gas

Most producers already sold the production at $5+, well above its production cost. They will continue to develop new wells, just at a slower pace. There can't be more bearish than we get this year. The NGV9 should settle below $2.50. When that is off the board, the traders will attach the...
