    New ICE grains in may

The cynic in me believes the agriculture department is lying. What would be the rationale for Europeans wanting a trading break..to have some English tea? Nonetheless, thanks for the suggestion. I will send them an email now.

    New ICE grains in may

I also just noticed that ICE margins for grains are about 50% of CME margins. See here: https://www.theice.com/publicdocs/futures_us_reports/all/Futures_US_Margin_Requirements.pdf With reduced margins, cash settled products (thus avoiding delivery issues), extended hours, CE grains are...

Kospi 200 futures on CME Globex to be launched on November 16, 2009

Is this KOSPI 200 contract truly available for trading on GLOBEX? It's over three years since the announcement, but I do not see it on GLOBEX (at least not through my trading platforms) How can one trade KOSPI on Globex? What broker (not including IB) offers it?

A Fund vs. Your Own Money

I agree that he is a "gut-feel' guy ..but that is discretionary global macro - synthesis of various market fundamentals and technicals to form an inner opinion. Now are you arguing that synthesis process cannot represent "alpha"?

A Fund vs. Your Own Money

You know I am thinking hard of other "alpha generators" and perhaps only Tudor & Bridgewater come to mind. Do you agree with these choices? Who else would you list?

    Partitioning a Drive - Pros & Cons

Hello, I am trying to partition a drive on a new laptop as many seem to recommend doing so. yet others advise against it. So, two questions: 1. Using Windows 7 Disk Management tool my 700GB HDD can only be shrunk to 336GB...which is strange for a brand new drive. Also 336GB is too...

http://www.foxbusiness.com/2013/01/29/cme-group-says-it-will-reduce-grain-futures-trading-hours/ This excerpt from the article linked above is hilarious and annoying: "The National Grain and Feed Association, which represents grain elevators and some farm groups, called CME's Tuesday...

Why are the pit traders in support of the 1:15pm close? Why do we still have pits?

    New ICE grains in may

That is correct. Market is open on ICE..just is NOT trading due to liquidity. Right now there is an offer of 2 contract s at 745.5 - NO BIDS. CBOT ZSH3 closed at 729.5

    New ICE grains in may

ICE has a longer trading day: 22 hours vs 21 hours. Yes there have been more gaps on the 5pm CST open of late. ICE has no liquidity because everyone is still trading on the CME/CBOT. If the ICE were wise they would introduce aggressive DMMs and introduce fee waivers to attract volume.

    New ICE grains in may

Frankly, why are we traders trading CME grains instead of ICE grains. https://www.theice.com/us_grains.jhtml ICE grains are cash settled which is also another advantage since traders have no interest in taking delivery. ICE also has lower fees. Extended trading hours, making...

    New ICE grains in may

I suggest: 1. All traders send CME emails opposing this 2. All traders move to the ICE if the CME maintains their position to reduce trading hours.
