Long signal this morning on FTSE ftrs..

Hmm... $100 per point ? That's pretty big. FTSE ftrs are £10 pp, Eurostoxx50 only €10 pp. Pretty easy to be down a couple of k on a smallish move then.

Trader28, whats the contract size for the ER2 ? I mean $ per tick ?

I prefer to keep the number of trades a day smallish, maybe 4 or so. Every entry and exit involves commission and possible slippage. Best to keep them as small as possible. I like that quote I read, an old pro said that you really only need one decent trade a day. Of course, 2 decent...

2 signals this am on the FTSE ftrs...

Anyone else trading this strategy (or a variant of it) on the Eurostoxx 50 ? It's very liquid compared to the FTSE futures.

I didn't trade it as it occured after 1200 but it was possible to enter early on the break of the 9 bar EMA @ maybe 6235 (As described in the original strategy). Of course, the best trade was the MACD cross higher up (but that's not what this thread is about...)

True. I like using stops to enter trades, that way you are on board for strong moves. Futures (well liquid ones) allow tight stops of course.
