Why did FB take a big hit today?

FB isn't going to single digits pretty soon. their book value is over $7 per share ($13B in equity), virtually all as cash. Throw in a few years of projected earnings, and the floor on their stock is $10-12. Read a balance sheet before you make silly predictions

Some 37 yo chick gets CEO job at Yahoo

the average chick out there gets lost EVEN WITH GPS. there's something about logic and women that don't go hand in hand. If a female driver misses her exit and needs to U-turn but if U-turns are prohibited, she will drive for 10 miles until the next U-turn, when all she needed to do was make 3...

Stocks would be 50% lower without BUBBLE ben bernanke!!

and this is why perma-bears will be losers in the end. There are too many powerful forces trying to keep equities up. Betting against those forces in the long term is a loser's game. that's why my retirement accounts, which are on a 25+ year horizon, are net long equities.

Unemployed, No Income and I Owe Tax

First, how does the govnt know if you're not insured? secondly, how would the IRS collect the penalty if you don't have insurance? Would they actually treat it as an unpaid tax liability and put a lien on your house or garnish your wages?

WTF? State of California taking money out of my checking acct?

Why would BofA refund the $100 fee when it wasn't their mistake? The one you should be pissed at and threatening to take to small claims court is the state of Calif. they fucked up, not BofA But this thread was good learning. I will never link my normal checking account with any service...

Mirror mirror on the wall, whose the fairest tax of them all?

I used to rent apartments to working- and lower-class tenants. i knew what their finances were like. These people were absolutely horrible with money. they couldn't keep a job yet overspent, and when they can't pay their bills and are about to be evicted or lose their car, they blame...

Americans Sees Biggest Home Equity Jump in 60 Years: Mortgages

paying down a mortgage is for people who don't have a clue how to invest money. I can't believe on a board with supposedly savvy investors/traders, anyone would want to pay down a 2.8% loan. Really, aren't you smart enough to find something that has a better return? This is what i'd expect...

Americans Sees Biggest Home Equity Jump in 60 Years: Mortgages

another deceiving statistic. The reason home equity is rising is because short sales and foreclosures are taking homes with negative equity out of the equation. Suppose you have two homes, one with -$100,000 equity and the other with +$200,000 equity, and suppose the one with negative equity...

Methods for gaining muscle and losing fat

PA is well respected but not all of his products have worked really well like 4AD. It seems the reviews for ursolic acid are 50/50 successful/unsuccessful. you seem like a hyper-responder if you get good results from only 6 tablets per day. I hear of others getting no results even with 12...

what's your dosing schedule for ursolic acid? how long did it take to notice a difference? I've considered trying it but it gets plenty of bad reviews.

Methods for gaining muscle and losing fat

if you guys are gonna try beef protein, I suggest you buy the smallest size before committing to it. I personally don't like the stuff. i use casein and liquid egg whites.

Methods for gaining muscle and losing fat

80-100 lbs for a barbell bench press you hear about guys boasting how they could bench 175 the first time they touched a weight. they're either internet liars or one of the few who were naturally strong

Methods for gaining muscle and losing fat

baron has good genes, I can tell. I'll bet his untrained 10RM on the bench press was much higher than a typical untrained 5'10" male. either that or he's on PH/AS :P

Zuckerberg's post-IPO wedding is smart legal move

I know, I laugh my ass off each time i hear some clown, i mean journalist, say it's a modest house. Maybe modest for a billionare, but not modest. Swimming pools are very rare in Palo Alto. if you have one, you are elite

Priscilla Chan just made $9.5 billion dollars today!

the IPO didn't change his networth THAT much. he was already a muli-billionare before the IPO. but the bigger question is, with his options why is he marrying her?? He should join his buddy Saverin in singapore and chill with those hot models.

    is facebook founder a traitor?

jealousy runs deep around here. He will owe what's called the "exit tax" when he renounces his citizenship. he's not getting a free pass. And don't think everyone loves living in US. two of my college classmates moved to Asia. Both were US citizens so the move was entirely voluntary.

As America's waistline expands, costs soar

the adult obesity rate in Japan is 4%. The rate in the US in 1950 was 9% (it's 34% now). do you think there's an evolutionary difference between americans now and 60 years ago? I don't think so!!! So why did americans 60 years ago and japanese people today have self-control, but current-day...

    Tsla

wrong on both counts. Its MSRP is $58k to $107k before tax credits. and there will be a lot of idiots who pay $10k over MSRP to be the first one on their block with a model S. Fuel costs are estimated to be 1/4 of gasoline vehicle. it's gonna take a LONG time to recoup the fuel savings...
