    Does anyone use this setup?

Would you have shorted OVER on Fiday last week as it was up over 10%? To quote a friend of mine..."Stock looks Strong!" I ask cause I did but it kept on going higher. My friend wanted to go long but would not out of principal since it would be taking the opposite side of my trade. What a nice...

Need help with RT III order execution

Jem, in a SuperSOES world, this should not be happening so I am at a loss to explain. First off lets clarify something. In your example, do you mean there is one MM at 50.01 and that is the inside offer price or bid price? I don't think you meant offer because REDI technically cannot post a...

Need help with RT III order execution

I agree with both Turok and QuickTrade, however more than likely it will take you some time to acquire the order execution skills to use ISLD effectively and Quicktrade is absolutely correct that you can get filled away from the market if you make an entry mistake. THus ARCA and REdi are good...

    pre-market gaps

If I had a nickel for every time a trader/customer called MarketWise (where I used to work) to ask "how do I set up a level 2 box"....or "how do I tie my chart to my level 2 box so it automatically updates when I drag a symbol..." etc. I would be trading one fat account. It is the nature...

    pre-market gaps

Geez Nic could you eloborate a little for poor AAA?! In any market minder you can add a column for any gap the stock is experiencing from prior day's close. It is calculated based on the current bid price vs the closing price. So, this column will give you the amount of gap occuring for a...

    Locked or crossed market

ISLD and INCA -the other 2 ECNs that most DAT platforms give the ability to post bids and offers-will allow you to enter orders that lock or cross the market. However they will adjust the price for display purposes so as not to appear that the order is locking/crossing the market.

    Anything better than RealTick?

It's a given that I'll always have something relevant, useful, important, entertaining, enlightening, knowledgeable, insightful, and/or just downright unique to say. I just needed the fancy stuff to soup it up a bit.

free level II education & real tick

zxcv1fu, Didn't you open an account with MasterTrader (Pristine)? Don't they have free Realtick training via their CentraNow virtual classroom training? Have you tried it and if so what don't you like about it that propmpts you to seek RT training elsewhere?

    Only trade volatile stocks

Privateer, Sounds like a personalized customized variation of O'neils CANSLIM method of trading. I commend you for creating such a specific duplicatable methodolgy for your trading as I think we all aspire to "finding" our own niche as traders though it often seems so elusive.

    Anything better than RealTick?

"In a recent research report on the 13 primary direct-access technology providers, Sonic was last in terms of the number of traders they have so they must be a pretty small outfit." Yeah but did you see the average number of daily trades and the % of Nasdaq volume they do?! Pretty amazing...

    Anything better than RealTick?

Should have mentioned that the the platform currently on the web (Point Direx) is their "level 1" product and yes it is comparable to Tradescapes low end product. I looked at their site and the higher end platform is not demo'd or otherwise referenced at this point, though I know for a fact it...

    EchoTrade traders

Arca and Redi no longer use Selectnet to preference market makers. Instead, they send all residual volume from an order to SuperSOES. That is, after looking for an internal match, matching against other ECN's via direct connections, and finally other ECN's via SNET (in that order) if the order...

Anatomy of a Day in the ES

tymjr, Your post was so well narrated I did not need a chart as I could see it in my minds eye so I did just that. However as I started to glance at my actual S & P chart I became very confused. I was looking at the date of your post-the 19th-and noted you said "yesterday's trades" so was...

    Anything better than RealTick?

Have you actually reviewed the lastest versions of the others mentioned? Sonic's T2 platform is windows based eg has independant customizable windows, etc. So is Point Direx high end platform an dboth have enhanced features similar to TradeScapes and are available now over the web. Agreed...

    Anything better than RealTick?

The best DAT platforms for order entry are without question the Watcher and platforms designed like it. There are three other platforms similar. 1.) TradeScape'-They have a high end trading platform ( I forget what they call it but its not the one browser based one everyone knows about)...

execution quality at echo trade and bright?

For what it's worth, they did not develop their own software. They use VTS-Virtual Trader developed by Virtual Transaction Systems. With any other broker, the VTS platform is widely considered a POS (that stands for piece of sh#t) compared to Realtick, etc. However it has been argued pretty...
