If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

There always is. But anyone who's interested can always use the link I posted above.

If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

If you'd like to look at my trading plan and provide the conditions under which it would fail, I'd be happy to review them: If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

is it a joke that I want to trade full time to make a living with only $30,000?

If you don't know whether or not it "really works" without trading it "for real", then you've got too many psychological issues to guarantee success. In fact, you'll most likely sabotage yourself before you're even out of the gate.

If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

Sorry, no. Price is self-correcting. Therefore, if one has a consistently profitable trading plan based on price behavior, his edge will never fail. Never. As for people arguing about TA and trendfollowing, given that they can't even agree on what TA and TF are, their arguments are not...

If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

Not quite. If one trades price, whatever edge he may have will never fail. If it does, he never had an edge in the first place.

If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

And sometimes we're just lucky. I was fortunate in that the first book I read was How To Make Money In Stocks, in the 80s, so I was never sucked into the indicator mire. When I turned my attention to futures in the 90s, I somehow lucked into an association with Teresa Lo, who acquainted me with...

And now the later demand line is broken. Still a decent trade, though. Edit: Just to be clear, the long is done. One is now out of the market.

Ghost of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

Finally a chart that requires some thought :) Price chokes at 77 for whatever reason and plunges through the demand line at the open. By their nature, these ultra-steep lines beg to be broken and nearly always are, but if one still needs them, they should to be drawn anyway. Likewise the...

Ghost of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

My apologies. I just realized that I neglected to fan the line again below this morning's higher high. Not enough coffee before posting. So this is the corrected chart:

Ghost of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

Price continues higher. Those of you who are familiar with the preceding threads (see post #1) will note that price made a higher high at the open which made it possible to fan the demand line slightly to include the immediately-preceding swing low (see the preceding chart, above). Thus when...

Ghost of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

True. The line can't be drawn until the change in demand/supply has already manifested itself. There are plenty of charts in the other threads (see post #1) that show the intervening lines, but this thread is intended to be an extension of the previous threads, not a reboot. As to why the...

Question: Trading Timeframe or Swing H/L's

And when the trolls get so fluffed about this exactitude they demand, they don't realize that they are announcing to the world just how inexperienced they are. Which is why I don't argue with them any more. (Plus I'm older :))

Question: Trading Timeframe or Swing H/L's

This sort of confidence, though, comes only with experience, one of those aspects where there's just no substitute. The question I'm most commonly asked is "where do you enter?", and the answer, of course, is that it doesn't really matter. But this isn't acceptable. However, if one...
