Link Sterling Trader to Outside Prgrams

Im wanting to know if it is possible to link sterling trader to an outside program. For example. When I type a symbol into my montage is it possible to code a program that will record the typed symbol and immediately input that into another program. I have an outside news service. And each...

Facebook IPO - Did you Try? Did you get any shares?

Won't get any responses.. No one will admit how stupid it was. Overhyped and grossly overvalued.

NASDAQ's disgraceful act involving FB IPO

Wasn't just FB. Znga had issues. And I couldnt use any Nasdaq order types till 2pm. Half my hot keys are nsdqscan or nsdqdark. Pain in the ass. I think the servers at the exchanges can't handle the hft volume anymore. The millions of flash orders sent and canceled are overwhelming the systems.

NASDAQ's disgraceful act involving FB IPO

It is unacceptable. Those fills should be broken. And to Rodney. Just plain ignorant to blame the trader for choosing to trade the ipo. I'm shocked by that. Who sold the share - the underwriters. Who bought - the trader. Who gets screwed - the trader of course. Not right.

Consolidated Audit Trail Costs May Hit HFT Hardest

I know fractions will never cone back. Simply just reminiscing about the days beforw hfts and dark pools. When the specialist did most of the volume. much easier to buy his prints vs fishing dark pools for liquidity.

Does anyone has nice fills using WTS smart routes?

If I understand you just want a fill in between the spread so you dont have to pay up so much and hit the offer. There really isnt alot of dark pool liquidity just sitting out there in the middle of the spread in apple or other high dollar stocks. Your best bet is to use a Nasdaq STGY hidden...

Does anyone has nice fills using WTS smart routes?

Below are definitions and uses for the various routes. For your scenario you need to make sure you are using the right type of smart route. It seems like you want to get a fill in between the spread. SmartMid is only good for fills when there is a one cent spread. Thats my understanding. The...

So JP Morgan lost 2 or 3 billion.. big deal!

You obviously know more about the trade then i do. I know all i need to know to profit from it. Trading 101. Go bother a newb. Maybe you can impress him with your arrogance.

So JP Morgan lost 2 or 3 billion.. big deal!

Nope thats their bet. "The 10-year Markit CDX North America Investment Grade Index Series 9, an older, less-active benchmark for credit-default swaps created in 2007 in which JPMorgan trader Bruno Iksil in London was said to have amassed as much as a $100 billion position, jumped the most in...

Does anyone has nice fills using WTS smart routes?

Don't use on illiquid or high dollar stocks. Plus you need to specify how many levels you want to sweep. Smartmid is great for midpoint trading. I have great success with that. Smarttake is also good and cheap. The idea is that these routes sweep dark pools. So look at the tape and see what...

So JP Morgan lost 2 or 3 billion.. big deal!

They have no incentive to reduce risk. They have the central banks as a back stop. Plus the executives and board members today own a very small float of the banks they run. They aren't risking they're money. Like most companies. CEOs wk for 5 yrs, make their cash and bolt. They don't care about...

Will you still trade if If there is no leverage in Forex ?

You can't trade without leverage. Moves are too small. It would only be institutional players without leverage.

So JP Morgan lost 2 or 3 billion.. big deal!

It's a $100 billion bet that corporate credit improves. They sold insurance on corporate debt. They are contracts on a thinly traded cds index. The $2 billion loss has occurred over the last month, not including this past week. The index has deteriorated substantially over the last week. Any...

The Meaning of A Trading Edge

If you can not identify your 'edge' in a trade then there is no trade to be made. What factor is it that gives you the conviction to make the trade. The bigger the edge, the greater the conviction. It is entirely how I size my trades.

Spreads tighter than ever before? Think Again.

Inefficiency is at its greatest at the open. Its easy money for experienced traders/scalpers. Easy is a relative term. Still plenty of risk involved but I have the best edge then. Stocks can be mispriced. Like opening print imbalances or fat finger trades. Bids and offers where they shouldnt...

Consolidated Audit Trail Costs May Hit HFT Hardest

I can't wait. This plus the Volcker Rule. Thank God JPM lost $2billion cause it strips any credibility away from opposing arguments. I got nothing personal against HFT's, just my wallet dose. Trading was easier before. Bring back the 1/8 tick as well. I can dream.
