    Pristine, Worth the $$?

Several final points, on the hope that it will help a few readers: 1) Long time members of ET have seen hundreds upon hundreds of posts with feedback about Pristine (and firms like them). 2) The feedback has been decided negative. The few posters with positive 'experiences' at Pristine...

    Pristine, Worth the $$?

Here's one good past thread, that was unfortunately deleted: http://web.archive.org/web/20040406234735/http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/printthread.php?threadid=29357 P.S. My thanks to the ET member that passed along to me that link.

    Pristine, Worth the $$?

Your best bet would be to do an ET search for all thread with "Pristine" in the title. Probably 75% of the posts mentioning Pristine on ET have been negative. A large percentage of the positive comments were made by new 'members' in their first couple of posts on this site (i.e. likely...

Equity model stats - aim higher?

I think you are making a mistake in comparing your cps results to another trader. Different strategies will inherently offer different cps potential, with the length off trade being a key factor, as well as the price of the stock traded. => Easier to have larger cps with a 4 hour trade...

MB Trading announces Pay for Limits in Forex

Sounds like an excellent enhancement, Steve. Congrats on its implementation and good luck with its (and your) success.

The shame and hypocrisy of the New York Times

The Wikileaks versus Climategate comparison might be a better example of NYT hypocrisy. (note: its a two page article, IBD doesn't do a good job of highlighting it's next page button)...

    Question for Experienced Traders

I think you've got a pretty decent rate now for your volume level. If you could get it dropped to 0.001 or 0.0015, then all the better for you. It's always a good idea to ask and look around. (not necessarily in that order)

    Consistently Profitable Day Traders

McGene: Those numbers are over ~8 1/2 years. Although I do use an ATS for trading, I think it works out to something more like 8.5 trade executions per minute, not 430. Craig: It's a bigger number than it used to be. While 2010 was my worse year of the decade percentagewise, it was still...

    Consistently Profitable Day Traders

I was doing a search on ET and ran across this old thread. I figured it might be interesting to get some comments from traders who may have previously posted on this thread about how their trading has progressed over the years. First I'll update my trading 'numbers' that I posted in my...

Grinding it out, day after day

I don't believe Corey offers a bootcamp as he has already pointed out that his trading is in liquidity sensitive issues, and encouraging competition (by disclosing more detailed information) would reduce his likely profitability. Actually, that might be the clue in itself => If you have...

Prop firm asking for source code and strategy??

I think we have a language barrier, as you are making no sense to me whatsoever (and you seem not to understand what myself or others are saying. I wish you well. I did think this was an informative thread you started: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=176961 :-)

Prop firm asking for source code and strategy??

Wowza. Where to begin? ok, maybe you aren't a shill for Don, my apologies. "Patents" for trading systems? Really. Do you think that's what hedge funds do? Goldman Sachs? Not a prayer. Intellectual property such as trading systems are kept very tightly controlled as Trade Secrets...

Prop firm asking for source code and strategy??

So, let me guess... Don was unable to have this thread shutdown, so he called in reinforcements? Give me a break. Take a look at the thread title, Alexander. If you don't like it, move on to another topic. Propseeker makes some extremely valid points. Don has no need to address them, but...

    Poker and the Beginning Trader

I don't believe that is correct, James. You have calculated the odds of selecting four aces with the first four cards. The correct calculation is for the odds of having four aces in the first five cards, which is not the same. That's what I calculated.

BATS 1/100 of a penny execution

I got the same kind of fill this morning on a marketable order to BATS. Personally, I think it stinks, as this means that our passive limit orders on BATS are now being queue jumped by these dark pools, which get an early peek and fill opportunity. I don't watch particularly closely, but today...

    Bright Trading's new payout model

Exactly, and after the gold is all gone. As Szeven pointed out, any otherwise profitable strategy will lose it's effectiveness and become worthless when too many traders begin trading the same methods. Unfortunately, Bright's business model ensures that their traders have to continually...

The Proposed Financial Reform -- Will It Hurt Trading Liquidity?

I don't think you have any reason for concern. Reduced liquidity results in more market inefficiencies, which make active trading easier, not harder. To some extent, the banks are competitors to active traders. If you remove a competitor, it becomes incrementally better for those left behind.
