    Iterative Refinement

Thanks for the examples, romanus. I'll review them to see what subtle contextual clues could keep me from reversing on such bars. I'm at work today so I only saw the 11:25 and 11:30 bars in hindsight. There are times when I'm monitoring real time and I just "know" that this isn't the end...

    Iterative Refinement

For me, everything is clear and unambiguous until 11:30 EST. At 11:30, I see an IBGS on IRV (after P3 down), and I run into the same issue I had on TIKITRADER's daily chart. This bar looks like a Traverse-level change signal (TLCS), but the market continues down. I need to figure out how to...

    Iterative Refinement

On TIKITRADER's chart, I see a Traverse-level change signal on August 20. This bar was an IBGS on IRV, after completion of Points 1, 2, and 3 down. We've recently been taught to view such bars as having increasing black Volume for Jokari Window analysis, so we should be anticipating...

    Iterative Refinement

Bi9foot, I just ran into a snag. If we annotate the steeper down Traverse with P3 at 14:00 (pink on your chart), then 14:10 becomes an FTT and a Traverse-level change signal. But as Spydertrader noted here...

    Iterative Refinement

Thank you, bi9foot, that fits together beautifully. It eliminates the Jokari Window Traverse level change signals at 14:30 and 14:45 since they both came before P3 of the purple down Traverse.

Funny you should post those - I've been staring at both of them for several days now. Think I will print them out and turn them upside down for a different perspective...:D

Ivo, I'm also stumped by this one. We have a clear Jokari Window Traverse-level change signal at 14:45 EST, when Price moves lower on DRV and does not close in Lateral Movement. Then we get two bars of IBV, the second of which Breaks Out of the down Traverse's RTL. Then we see a SP form on...

    Iterative Refinement

I updated the ES 5min Pace Lines as of the close on 8-15-08. Volume levels have been lower during the non-dominant up Traverse (on the daily chart) which began in mid-July, just as we would anticipate. VDU: up to 8,271 DU: 8,272 - 13,197 Slow: 13,198 - 18,559 Medium: 18,560 - 26,292...

    Iterative Refinement

Jander, I had the same misunderstanding as you did regarding Traverse-level change signals. But of course it makes perfect sense that the beginning of a Lateral Traverse wouldn't give a change signal. I reannotated my chart to reflect the existence of a Lateral Traverse. Spydertrader, is the...

    Iterative Refinement

I fanned the Traverse with a huge Lateral Point 2-3 Retrace (Point 2 at 11:20 and Point 3 at 12:30). My FTT comes at 12:50 due to Peak Volume. Some or all of this may be incorrect. I'll study TIKI's chart to try to differentiate it from today's examples.

    Iterative Refinement

I added two areas of lateral movement which were missing from my chart. Two times when a trader does not apply the Jokari Window come immediately to mind: 1. The market is building a Traverse but has not yet shown a Point 3; 2. Price is in a Lateral Formation or Lateral Movement (by...

    Iterative Refinement

In light of recent discussion, today's 10:25 EST (Close of) bar and today's 11:15 EST (Close of) bar appear to represent Jokari Window Traverse-level change. But Price continues up in both instances. How can one avoid interpreting these two bars as Jokari Window Traverse-level change? I...
