Teachers Unions & poor education in America

Probably the most destructive power within our communities, and our nation, is our "mind chatter" we carry on throughout our day, as well as what we hear from those around us. "The rich get richer blah blah blah..." "The "MAN" keep me down"...etc.. "I can't seem to get ahead...etc.." As...

Egypt will blow up did you see brian williams face he is in shock..

Unfortunately, that would only happen over the dead bodies of thousands of young Americans in uniform. That would be horrible. ymmv, fwiw and imho

Teachers Unions & poor education in America

Just glancing at the bigger picture you've painted, yea, that's about it. Vocational training/Certification would be a great start. TX stopped funding Voc.Ed years ago, and we're paying for it now. Not every kid CAN, or WANTS to attend college.

Teachers Unions & poor education in America

Here in TX, all Spec. Ed. students have been "Mainstreamed" into regular classrooms. How in hell is a poor teacher supposed to handle the Emotionally Disturbed children, the MR kids, AND her "normal" students? Can't be done. And it's not the teachers who are the problem. It's the parents who...

Kill switch for U.S. internet may impair commerce

WAY too many ways to get "on the 'net" in this country. Egypt only has 4 IP's. We've got too many to count. Even shutting down the entire power grid in the continental US wouldn't do it. I don't see how our inept govt. could do it.

    Thinking Right - Joel Osteen

Osteen's got a good gig going. I certainly don't begrudge him a dime. I think all churches and non-profits should pay taxes tho.

    The beautiful and the damned

The "devil" is always in the details..or in this case...the subtleties. There is no such thing as competition with others. The mind can only think one thought at a time. To be creative, the mind must concentrate, or shift the mindset, towards creation, NOT competition. Great athletes, or...

    The beautiful and the damned

Actually, the rich DO get richer, and the poor DO get poorer. Here's the distinctive difference, and cogent explanation. The POOR in attitude lose, while the RICH in attitude GAIN.

What would you choose...money or happiness?

We can only experience both. Contrast provides us with the impetus to reach for the happy. So, I'll take the money, and welcome the contrast that normally occurs in our physical experience.

    The beautiful and the damned

People are poor because they believe they deserve it, it's easy, and it's fun. People are wealthy for the exact same reasons.

Nobody's really sure how many USD, Yuan, UK Pounds and gold bars are involved in the narcotics trade worldwide. But it's assuredly in the trillions.
