Don't forget to trade the market in front of you, not the one in your mind. The one in my mind is SPX @ 500, so I can buy 2012 mar, apr, & may 1000 calls at .10....then I'll go sit back.

You may be right. But from my experience, when you see this kind of reversal accompanied with volume, you're probably observing the beginning of a trend change. Good luck to you

Pokito, the chart below may give some insight. BTW, we open yesterday at the resistance trandline, that's what I'm playing with today

Is Trading As Easy As This?

Is trading as easy as the steps you outlined? Who knows, maybe. But it sure hasn't been that easy for me. Which one of those causes people to fail? I'll say look at #4, Risk management is king in this business. #5 is funny tho, it's sure easy when HFT isn't chopping you to death or...

should I go long at 47.50 or 44.25? That's a rhetorical question btw @ Pokito, Lol I didn't even notice what she was wearing, and I have her on mute anyways.

On a higher time frame chart, 1050 represents the shoulder of an IHS (Which I doubt will ever play out fully, but that's another story). If you've noticed in the last 2 days we've close at 50 or above, I'm looking to see if they can extend it today. The wedge on the weekly chart below is also...

I have a downward channel on the hourly with 60 as the upper bounds. I was initially looking for 67-70 after the number due to scared shorts, but it seems like the shorts are really holding on tight.

Everyone expects that to be nasty, so I doubt it'll be much of a surprise to anyone. If its "less bad than expected", 67-70 should be printed easy.

I want 47.50 to buy today, but I doubt I'll be getting it.

Lol, that would be the hardest 3 points ever made in the market. I would be surprised if he didn't close that trade out...no one should trade like that. Even ammo closes out things when he doesn't see it going in his favor. Anyways, Kudos to him and his heat-taking ability.
