    50% loss of starting capital

I would like to figure out a formula to see the maximum # of contracts that could be traded to allow 50 trades before an account balance fell to 50% of the starting balance. Ideally the number of trades would be 50 before the account value is 50% of starting balance. The #'s I know are ...

What are Overnight Margins on Futures?

Check www.cme.com for overnight margins. Last time I checked the overnight margin requirement for 1 E-mini SP 500 futures contract was $3500. Most brokers charge between $300 and $1750 per contract for intraday only margin. For most brokers once the position is held after 3:45-4:15...

the risk of not taking enough risk starting out

For what ever reason as my account grows I tend to grow my position size very slowly. I still risk about the same amount per trade and am very cautious increasing position size. Weird how I an not willing to increase position size based on increased account size. I think it has to do...

How to never get an account wiped out?

But if you want to increase position size and keep each max loss the same % of account size it will not be possible. Unless you want to consider the money you took out still part of the account but that is a little strange. I do agree with your point a lot of money in the account could be...

Need opinions on new flat panel monitor (19"+)

I have not seen an LCD monitor that compares favorably to the old technology CRT monitors. LCD's have less contrast than a CRT and the viewing angle for optimum picture is critical.
