What does this INCA interview quote mean?

Can anyone interpret this to me? "One (strategy) is that, as a global-agency broker, we're servicing customer orders and we will expose those orders to SuperMontage in the same way that we expose them to Euronext and the London Stock Exchange and other ECNs in the U.S." It's from ...

Putting all of your faith into Supermontage?

Right, but I hear they are still participating, I guess I would just want the ability to switch that routing off with ANY ECN.

Putting all of your faith into Supermontage?

Now that we know a majority of ECN's are participating in Supermontage I have a question: What happens if the s*%t hits the fan and you want to GET OUT of a position. Based on the ECN's participation in SM, ISLD is the only ECN to use a "switch" to let the user participate or not. I don't...

I need Historical NBBO individual stock data!

Can anyone direct me to a website or software package that will give me historical BID/ASK data (NBBO) for individual stocks? Basically I am looking to get a random 20 stocks with 20 days worth of data. I tried E-signal, but they cannot help. The best they have is tick data. Any help would...

    INCA in Supermontage?

Does anyone know if INCA is participating in Supermontage? I have seen no commitments as of yet and personally I hope they stay away from it. Someone has to step up to the plate and stop this monopoly. I know there merging partner is on some level, but what about INCA?

    ARCA speed and ISLD...

Why can't ECN's listen to it's customers and be like ISLD? They are good at what they do and that is what makes them successful. They don't try to be everything to everyone. ARCA could learn from that. If they did, I would give them massive order flow.

The launch of NYSE Open Book this month

I guess you have to define "instantaneous". To NYSE and ARCA that is defined as "seconds". To ISLD and other ECN's it is defined as "miliseconds"

    ARCA speed and ISLD...

Actually, Island can hide orders as well and I would prefer Island over Arca speed anyday.

The launch of NYSE Open Book this month

"per display and will refresh every 10 seconds" Ooooohhh, such speed! With that kind of updating, the ECN's better catch up with comparable real-time info...:) But what does speed matter with specialists anyway, I mean, you will get the fill if it goes against you and miss the fill if...

    ARCA speed and ISLD...

Basically ARCA has NO speed. It's really sad. I wish they would improve and I can only hope the merged ECNs will adopt REDI technology.

    Arca Fix Lousy Execution Speeds

Financial Information Exchange. It's the standard format for creating execution messages for exchanges and brokers. Sorry, I missed that question. For more info, go to: WWW.FIXPROTOCOL.ORG

    Arca Fix Lousy Execution Speeds

Exactly! That about right for the pecking order.

    Arca Fix Lousy Execution Speeds

It must be an IB issue, because in FIX execution, BRUT is much faster than ARCA. It's one of the closest to ISLD.

    Arca Fix Lousy Execution Speeds

You can ask anyone on the street. Do an analysis and look at the execution FIX logs for the time stamps. ARCA is the SLOWEST of all ECNs. The averge trader will not experience this, but FIX customers will. I wish they were up to speed with Island executions because I would give them more...

    Arca Fix Lousy Execution Speeds

I want to start this thread to see if anyone has had problems with ARCA on the FIX side of execution. Basically to sum it up: They are the slowest of all ECNs. Their technology is through Townsend Analytics and all it has caused is grief for us. My fear is that with this integration with REDI...

What's the best strategy for trading the QQQ?

Think about it, if you can consistently loose money on a system than technically that is a GREAT system. It's just as hard to loose money as it is to make money. If you have a -1 correlation, then you are gold...:)

    REDI participating in Supermontage?

I have heard that Island is backing away from SM because of the fees associated with Nasdaq and now with the merger with Instinet? Thoughts?
