    Reading the Tea Leaves.

If you just look at the 'Last Traded Price' on the option that can be a little misleading too---depending on volume and when that last trade took place.

    soybean/corn option trading

I just learned something new. I called CBOT again: The grain options do trade electronically AT NIGHT. From 6:30 pm Central to 6 AM. Normally there's not much liquidity in the electronic sessioin, but he said that some nights the liquidity is decent, especially between the hours of 6:30 pm...

    soybean/corn option trading

I called the CBOT and asked, but they tell me they don't have plans to offer the grain options electronically yet. CBOT did recently bring the metals options online for electronic trading so I imagine they may one day do the same with grains.

    soybean/corn option trading

I'm seeing some bid/ask coming in on Esignal, but it's still pretty spotty. Try checking other months and other markets and you'll see that the bid/ask is often not available. These bid/ask quotes are coming from the pit. The grain options aren't an electronic product yet, but who...

    soybean/corn option trading

The actual trading is still done in the pit. I just asked the CBOT if they have any plans to offer the grain options electronically, and they said there are no plans at this time. It is possible to submit orders for grain options over an electronic platform with my firm, but the order...

    soybean/corn option trading

Electronic grain futures recently became available, but are you asking about electronic options? Right now grain options are still pit-traded only. Feel free to give me a call if you have questions about the futures or options.

    anyone having cbot problems?

the $10 Dow (pit) is still trading. If you have an even number of mini Dow contracts you might want to hedge with the $10 Dow...or even w/ an odd number of lots you might to limit your exposure by using the $10 Dow.

Please help me if you got a moment (ECBOT Gold Option Futures)

'Sep 06' stands for September 2006. The only way to know what the Last Trading Day is would be to verify on an expiration calendar (or it should be on your statement also). http://www.cbot.com/cbot/pub/cont_detail/0,3206,1014+36080,00.html You should be able to close out the option actually...

Please help me if you got a moment (ECBOT Gold Option Futures)

Looks like option expiration is Aug 28th. You should see that date specified on your equity statement where it shows the position. You'd have up until that day to offset it. If the option expires out of the money, and you you haven't offset it, it would expire worthless and you'd have no...

Reduce your exchange fees for Emini DOW and other eCBOT products

If you're referring to the Emini Russell, the CME has the ECM program, for one, which would save $1.44 per round turn contract (from $2.32 r/t the rate drops to $0.88). Contact me for more information.

Reduce your exchange fees for Emini DOW and other eCBOT products

are you referring to the Emini Russell 2000 (Globex) or the full size Russell 2000? I'll try to field questions about CME membership too, but I posted about CBOT membership in particular just because I've just been learning about them recently.

Reduce your exchange fees for Emini DOW and other eCBOT products

It may be easier than you think to significantly reduce your fees to trade eCBOT products. Normally the exchange fee for Emini DOW is $1.86 (including NFA fee) round turn. With membership you can bring the cost down to $0.50 round turn---saving $1.36 per round turn contract. Even trading just...

    Best place for Paper Trading

To me, the benefit of paper trading is primarily to get a handle on using the trading software (platform) and understanding the mechanics of placing an order, amending an order etc. You're probably going going to want to compare some different platforms to see what suits you best. We can get...
