Tradovate with Jigsaw Trading vs. X_Trader - reliability

If you are scalping, you don't want TT/X_Trader for the frontend, but for the network/access hubs and the fact that dedicated stuff works 24/7 to keep the thing going. For futures trading I've always used X_Trader and my downtime is litterally zero. I also thought about Jigsaw for a while and...

    Is this strategy marketable?

Look, if you can beat the results in question, why not just drop this guy an email? I'd say that he probably knows more than all those muppets here on ET and while you underperformed the buy and hold approach, he probably still would be interested in case your results are uncorrelated with the...

Erm...pro rata matching? Split Fifo Matching?

Estimated position in queue - Jigsaw vs Trading Technologies

I'm not quite sure about TT. CME has Market By Order data out since march, which gives you exact queue position. So perhaps TT has it implemented. For Jogsaw, I'm pretty positive they just use an algorithm.

    dom trading

DOM - Trading is still viable, but as WRB said, it's mostly about scalping. Guys who are like "it's all algo's and fake orders" simply don't know what to look for. If some guy needs to dump 10.000 FGBL in the next 5 minutes, he will have an exploitable impact, algo or not. But do not think...

    IB TWS greeks going bad.....!!!

I not need my hands held, I tell you that. I was using TWS to it's full extend, some instances running on a virtual machine on a server farm, connecting 3rd party, self coded stuff via API. It's not that I'd like "service" as in "which button do I have to press" or "which option should I buy"...

    IB TWS greeks going bad.....!!!

I still don't understand why ppl still a) trade with them or b) when they do so, still use TWS although a truckload of other analytical software is out there. Yeah, the good ones cost money, but guess what? Save a drink or two or ditch that stupid ass netflix subscription an shell out a couple...

    screensharing

Well, I'm not quite sure if you even know what you are talking about...The whole concept of scalping with the DOM is finding large orders transacting and going with them. So you not just click into a couple of contracts into a "breakout" or because some screen - spaghetti told you so. You find...

    screensharing

... r u trading CFD's or what? FDAX is 12,50€ per tick and FESX is 10€...so even when you are lucky enough to find an FDAX - market that is only 1 tick wide, you are paying more IF you decide to cross the spread. You probably never have to go to market in the FESX, cause the contract is liquid...

    screensharing

Just do yourself a favour and do not trade YM, 3E, ES and especially not FDAX! Too volatile and too thin and even if your reads are correct, when those things spray out, you will be offside by a huge amount. It's very difficult to control risk in those markets. Have a look at ZN, ZB and FESX...

    New TT wish list

So while we're at it, I also have a suggestion: While it is already possible to highlight trades above a certain size in the Times&Sales, I'd highly welcome similar color coding when it comes to changes in the book. I find, I'm often so focused on the inside market that I miss changes in the...

If you are attached to the money you are trading with...you probably should not be trading at all. Just saying ;)

    Three Psychologies in Trading

Guys, I think you mix up psychology with proper mental condition and work ethic. Of course trading when drunk is gambling. But be sure there are a ton of traders out there who are fat, don't work out, don't meditate, don't visualize, yada, yada, yada and still make a truckton of money...just...

    Three Psychologies in Trading

All that psychology stuff is utter crap when it comes to trading. Sure, you might get 2-3% closer to your A+ game, but working on psychology to become profitable is like taking yoga classes to cure cancer. You need an edge, you need to know why you have edge, why it works and how to execute...

America is on a high and why it can't compete

It's not about hurting themselves, it's about reliability and sincerity. Nobody wants to employ a junkie. He might be an OK worker, but what is he going to do when he's short on cash and has the monkey on his back? Rob you? Steal from you? Will he freak out in front of customers? Will he show up...

    %10-40 a month with a small acccount.

Of course trading scales well, that's why everybody is trying. But there is a difference in scalability when it comes to short timeframes, because execution becomes a factor above a certain size. As soon as you move a market a couple of ticks you need to lengthen your timeframe because those...

Brainstorm career options (military to trading)

Hey dude, sounds great. IMO 50k$ is ok since you can scale very well at this point. Just your 50% volatility target is not too appealing. Just test your stuff and see where you have to make adjustments and trade for the stats. Liquidity will be the other issue you will be dealing with when you...

    %10-40 a month with a small acccount.

I don't know what the fuss is all about. Performance is about edge and skill, not math. When I started trading by exploiting bucket shops, I went from 1000$ to 8k$ in a month with a ~90% winrate and traded this way for amost a year...untill they kicked me out and I had to start trading futures...
