How to avoid drawdown when you increase your position size?

i like to encourage people to use more and more capital as they increase their trading size. As an example, if you trade 1 contract with $5k, maybe use $12k for 2 contracts. The idea is that when you are trading many contracts, you will still see strong returns from the compounding of the...

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

so the saying," only losers average losers", you laugh in it's face. Is your style of trading similar to the Turtles, of scaling in at the beginning of a large move as much as possible and holding on for as long as possible?

    System failure

i can imagine how you feel, but around 2003 to 2004 the e-mini s&p range shrank very quickly. You may just want to put up a ATR on some of the stocks on a daily chart and look at their numbers.

I don't understand the purpose of "hedging"

the classic idea of hedging was for farmers and producers that wanting to lock in current prices of their product. Hedging, technically is not to make a profit or risk a loss. Although because the hedge may strengthen or weaken, you can have small variations in price. Now a days, more...

This happened to a good friend of mine, his ISP almost black listed him as a spammer because of it. Contact your ISP and point it out to them, they should be able to take care of it for you or at least walk you through how to stop it on your end.

Proving that a Variant Perception Strategy Works...

I did a google search on Julian Robertson and what i found was that he went long the top 200 stocks and short 200 worse stocks. His blow out has been contributed to the tecnology craze of the late 90's. This thread seems to be about going long the cheap stocks of one sector and short the...

    Curiousity

what markets. This idea would only work on highly volatile markets like Crude and gbpusd. The real problem is that it is usually in the area of 30-35% accurate due to all the whip saws of the market going back and forth. I applied your idea to daily charts of multiple futures and forex...
