Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

What if... it's all just gambling. ;)

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

But do you believe him? If not, then what does that say about the rest of his posts? If there's no "holy grail", maybe there's no "obvious" either? :D

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Actually, not true. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/posts/2340852 '...the so called "holy grail" of trading, as it does indeed exist, but only for a very very small minority!' https://www.elitetrader.com/et/posts/2344038 '...the real "holy grail" of trading, which does exist for the very small...

If BTC breaks through $20,000 next stop $10,000.........

I don't know how you spot a "good opportunity" but I can't imagine fundamentals count for much with shitcoins. If I was inclined to trade them, which I'm not, I'd probably just place small bets on ones which are showing the strongest MOMO and try and get out just before the tide turns.

If BTC breaks through $20,000 next stop $10,000.........

Fair enough. But Yearn @ 36,000% is not 36,000x. Cryptjitsu's example of HEX @ 10,000x is 1,000,000% (or 999,900% by my reckoning).

'I have been in shock': Letters reveal financial distress after Celsius, Voyager bankruptcies

Not with a big chunk of your life saving it isn't. There's no Government safety net if anything goes wrong. And interest rates way above what you can get from a bank should ring alarm bells. There's no such thing as a free lunch, and if something seems too good to be true... Your average...

If BTC breaks through $20,000 next stop $10,000.........

    Being pedantic, actually: 2x = 100% 3x = 200%

For some reason, maxinger's posts are flagged as 'Ignored Member' for me, and not displayed, but I haven't got anyone on the ignored list. Wierd.

Why are ETH dec futures at a discount to ALL other futures?

To be fair, he actually said "And a hedge on stock indexes dropping too. Oh wait .... not there too?" I think he was mocking the stock market hedge argument for crypto (following on from your mocking of the inflation hedge argument). ------------- Of course, the same criticism could be...

If BTC breaks through $20,000 next stop $10,000.........

Something I've been pondering. When this current inflation/recession/bear market starts to ease, where will money waiting to be invested go? After the GFC, it was the stock market that took off. Maybe this time crypto will get a big slice of the action.

Maybe he'll pop up here in a few weeks, and try and steal the mantle from johnarb. :D

Is that practicable with the volatility (noise) of BTC?

What makes BTC good for trading?

Which is not surprising because it's almost become like a Bitcoin ETF. :D Crypto mining stocks like GLXY and MARA also act like proxies.

What makes BTC good for trading?

Which (if you subscribe at all to the EMH) should make it less efficient, less random walk. In other words, easier to extract a profit from.

What makes BTC good for trading?

I'm assuming volatility? It hardly ever stops moving and, for something with such a big market cap, it moves a heck of a lot. I suppose ETH, or other cryptos, may be even be better in this respect? Is there anything else (stock, commodity?) which has similar volatility characteristics...

    Trading Bitcoin in Canada

And that's a bad thing? Sleep, R&R, quality time with family? Trading/life balance? Only joking but it's not always a good thing being able to trade something 24x7x365. :)

    Trading Bitcoin in Canada

Wouldn't it be easier/cheaper/safer to trade a BTC derivative (ETF etc)? Here in the UK, the authorities have banned private investors from using crypto derivatives, so it's not an option for us. The closest proxy we can trade is something like MSTR, GLXY or MARA, or there is a London listed...
