Does Apple prove that the stock market can be a total joke?

i think u need to go back to finance 101. you're obviously confused as to what market value is or means. the current price x shares outstanding IS the current market value, i dont really know what the hell you're talking about when you say price is not value or whatever... again, if i wanted...

Does Apple prove that the stock market can be a total joke?

i dont understand. when i say traders agree on value, of course a trader may think apple is severely overvalued but im speaking 'collectively', since the market is a collection of traders then its not important what any 1 trader thinks and is offering at 700. if i can sell 10,000 shares of...

Does Apple prove that the stock market can be a total joke?

i understand that and agree with you. my entire point is how can the 1000's of traders and investors agree that apple is worth 700 billion and then 4 short months later think its worth 400 billion. thats obscene and shows how unintelligent and uninformed market really is, its not efficient or...

Does Apple prove that the stock market can be a total joke?

but market cap isnt theoretical, its very real. if i wanted to buy apple right now i could not get it for any less than 405 billion.

Does Apple prove that the stock market can be a total joke?

The peak of apples market cap was 700 billion and it has since lost about 250 billion in market value in just a few short months. to put this into perspective it would be equivalent to wiping out google or microsoft completely in 4 months. Think about that.. Apple could "theoretically" have...

the vast amount of jobs on wallstreet and im talking probably about 80% if i had to guess are support roll jobs. back office stuff. ok, the average salary is probably like 40 grand with a 3k bonus and dont even bother asking for more. so these asinine inflated numbers are just looking at...

I think I figured out why trading can never work for so many people

i sort of agree with you. imo, newbs like to bank small profits because it feels good at the moment but it leads to a perpetual rut. more importantly they develop bad habits early and reinforce them day after day after day. to me, by go big or go home is learn to swing the entire day...

    How do you code patterns?

i remember trade ideas from back in the day when i was flipping stocks on my ameritrade account. i suppose they are doing well since they've stuck around. they are all canned setups though i believe..

    How do you code patterns?

If I have a specific setup that i like that involves about 15-20 bars and wanted to constantly scan every stock out there for this pattern, and then trigger an order, how hard would it be to do that? And how can you possibly code that up? Its not ever going to look exactly the same. Each...

I think I figured out why trading can never work for so many people

don miller had a good analogy about trading. its simple you're buying wholesale, selling retail low/high in a trading range = wholesale the middle of the trading range = retail low/high in a channel = wholesale regression line of channel = retail spike = get it while its hot!
