    Question for Grob/Hershey...

thanks for the great post. I can see that pace and volatility are extrememly important for knowing how each leg of a day and how its corresponding channel is going to pan out. I noticed that you have it down so well that you are projecting channels without the three points. My question is...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Can I ask what software you are using. It looks simliar to market delta which I tried for a little. Are you using button trader for IB? Also, I see that Jack used a 5,13,6 macd(absoluet oscilallating indicator). This essentially is using MAs. 5 and 13 ema and 6 sma i think. I have a 4 and 13...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Great! keep up the great work. Cant wait till Labor day. I consider myself a novice with the TLs and really appreciate your posts. The end goal is to have channels drawn in real time on the seven pertinent fractals to give a context unmatched. I have perspective based on cycles more than...

    Question for Grob/Hershey

Thankyou. You too. We obviously agree to disagree so lets leave it at that for this topic. Lets leave the people who are contributing to continue and lets be at peace. Now back to drawing TLs.

    Question for Grob/Hershey

The market has a definate structure. You can probably understand that sometimes it is fortuitous to hold through price pertibations(lateral channel). Experience and understanding market conditions is more important than stop losses(fear induced).

    Question for Grob/Hershey

When you get a lot of experience under your belt, stops are based on market conditions. Not so much relative to entry price. I would say stops are more related to volume and where in the cycle you are. A lot of times if you hold a position against you a few points and you get stopped out, price...

    Question for Grob/Hershey

Great. My perspecitve this morning was yesterday being a trending day that opened at the low and closed at its high with a range of about 20. We had a 5 point gap down from yesterdays high. Thats about a quarter of yesterdays up cycle. Does the market want to retrace and break down through the...

    Question for Grob/Hershey

I hope you post your charts and Grob109 comments. It seems to me that Grob109 posts market truths more than anything else. He knows the market truths from experience but I think he does not state or it is not possible to state the step by step process to which one comes to the conclusion of the...

    Is Vol. Really Important ?

Todays ES extremely low volume of the day was from 1:25-1:35pm. Then you bracket and hold all afternoon if you can stomach making money that quickly....lol

    Time Stop for cycle completion

Cool. I trade the 5 minute timeframe and w/in about 15 minutes of holding I usually see a nice volume push in my direction to have a successful half cycle. It seems that extremely low volume(<2500 for ES 5 min) is better for sidelineing and indicative of a failed half cycle. Like today...

Why is the Futures market supposedly more difficult?

EXTREMELY! Is it possible to trade solely off of DOM(reading the tape) or is it necessary to have the market structure down before delving into this? From my experience, it was necessary to have a structure of understanding before delving into DOM. I think a seperate thread should be...

Why is the Futures market supposedly more difficult?

I have tried to sit in the low volatility period and looking for a 1/2 cycle in my direction which works if volume is steady. I have learned(through losses and evaluation) to take an exit and sideline when your volume charaterestis you explained above appear. Today from 1:25 to 1:35 was a nice...

    Time Stop for cycle completion

Thanks. I am looking through it now. What you posted above is exactly what I was thinking about.

    Time Stop for cycle completion

Thanks for the links and replies. Let me be more specific to what I was thinking. I enter on pullbacks of the dominant cycle(determined by longer timeframe). After entry I look at time, price, volume, and the current cycle status that I am entering for and looking for a profit. Time, price, and...

    Time Stop for cycle completion

I was wondering if others have gone down this path and was wondering how they have or have not implemented time stops after entry. I believe that markets are cycle oriented and was pondering on having a time stop. Essentially, after I enter the market(ES), i look for the cycle to complete in...
