    IB unbundeled question.

In most cases (practically all) unbundled is cheaper, also if you execute only few trades per month. So anyone should turn it on.

IB offers the most possibilities for European options and is the cheapest. Obvious but true.

    Options Trading Software

At first sight ToS looks OK. However, any broker where you have to pay high fees to withdraw your money one cannot take serious. I would highly recommend IB.

    Historical Data

The site worked very well on indices for me. So I downloades a few indices like nasdaq100, CAC40, FTSE, etc. For some only 1 minute data work, for others also the tick data. I assumes that it also worked for the mentioned futures, but when this doesn't work for you probably you do nothing...

    Historical Data

Yes, so I gave him an answer where to find it. When you should have taken a look you could have seen that the futures available on that site are: Nasdaq 100 S&P 500 mini S&P 500 mini Dow which includes the futures he asked for. For free.

cost for shorting stocks at IB

See also: http://ibkb.interactivebrokers.com/node/41 I hope -0.12 means paying 1,2% (instead of 12%). Currently at some stock you see -0.12, the BM for the $ currently is 1,2% so these probably align...

cost for shorting stocks at IB

When I read this page toroughly, my guess is: http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/accounts/fees/interest.php?ib_entity=llc That's it indeed -0,62% (could also be 6,2% btw, you can't tell from the AM page). But that's only because it's below tier 1, I would say that when it's above tier...

Can I do this in IB?

BTW, you could do this by creating multiple pages. Then you don't trade anymore from the portfolio-page (if you do so now) but from the risk or no-risk page.

Options Exchanges Knock High-Frequency Traders Down a Peg

Reading the article it will be a per month restriction (and maybe only after a few monts of > 8000 orders).

Finally, leveraged ETFs are preferable to margin, for long term?

That must then be the issuer who takes the money he thinks he deserves. Probably there are methods to to this other than from the advertised costs...

Options Exchanges Knock High-Frequency Traders Down a Peg

So this is nothing too serious. You have to submit 8000 orders per month before you have a potential disadvantage. And it's only on 2 exchanges, hopefully the volume will divert to exchanges that offer a better level playing field (like BOX).

Getting rid of EUR balances in IB account

That's probably because you can do several things to in/decrease your EUR position (example for increase): buy eur/usd through IDEAL Pro buy eur/usd through IDEAL sell usd/eur through IDEAL For some reason, in IDEAL you have 2 pairs, in IDEAL Pro only 1.

Finally, leveraged ETFs are preferable to margin, for long term?

They must have, otherwise the product could not be financed. The issuer of such an instrument can use options or futures/stock to manage it. The expected value of the financing costs when using futures/stock is equal to the cost of time decay of the options necessary to have the same effect...

    IB order question

Note that there is a practical work-arond for this issue by adding a condition in the condition field of a (child)order. But this only works when you don't have multiple orders open on the same equity class. Example: you can make a child order with the condition that it is only transmitted...
