    Asian Traders

Vegasoul, I don't use either, but I believe both Futuresource and Reuters/Bridge carry all the markets you need - SGX (I'm assuming you're talking MSCI Taiwan), KSE and HKEX, at significantly lower price. Check their websites. I have absolutely no idea what the reliability is like compared to...

    Something very simplistic

I understand the basics of stochastics, but I don't use them, so I am not aware of all the intricacies. However, isn't a 1-min 34-2-34 going to give you exactly the same signals as a 2-min 17-1-17?

emini - choppy or trend determination

Excuse me if I'm a bit dim, jboydston, but doesn't this bring us back full circle to the original question? How do you know which to trade? I suspect you are going to say explicitly what I believe you were trying to say implicitly in the above post - ie Trade 'em both and let the market decide...

    Ehlers and Cycle Analysis...

DGB. Please keep us up with how you are doing with this once (if) you start trading it. Ehler's work is something I have on the pad to have a look at once time permits, so I would be interested to know your experiences, and whether I should move it to the top of the to-do list.

    Books, Books, Books

Has anyone read "The Innergame of Trading: Modeling the Psychology of the Top Performing Traders" by Koppel and Angell, and if so, any thoughts on it? Worthwhile, or no?

    "Mind Reader"

Me neither, which tends to suggest I must have seen it before, because I'm not that bright (but I can lift heavy things!)

    QQQ Measured-Move Targets....

Rather harsh, I thought, for a first post.

    Aphexcoil defends himself

Here it is Aphie. OtL sums it up perfectly. Lay off for a while. If you feel a need to post, ask questions. Don't advise. Once you start trading (real, NOT paper) start your journal. I can guarantee you it will be one of the best-read threads on ET. Nitro may even deign to predict a number...

    Hong Kong Rollover

To save def some work.....but def, correct me if I am wrong. One to two days before last trade. For example, last trade for the September contract will be Friday 27 Sept. Most people tend to roll on the Wednesday and the Thursday. Volume on the Friday will miniscule.

    hedge fund idea

Hedgez You don't know me, so you will have to take my word on the fact that I am the least cynical person you will ever (not) meet. The cynicism on this thread is cynicism born of realism from people who have been there, done that. There are any number of snake oil salesmen out there...

    Charles Schwab

It's not really that odd when you think about it. A lot of firms are still, I suspect, finidng they are bottom-heavy, with an excess of back office and support staff left over from the 'good old days'. It is actually very hard to pare these numbers back properly. You pare them back 1, 2, 3...

    Aphie's quest into Futures

I too am looking forward to it.......and I'm pretty sure I speak for the other 13,174 members of this board. Good luck.

    Daytrading E-Minis w/o Indicators

Slap. Its been out there for a while, so I'll answer it for you. Inside bar--any bar (be it 5 min, 1 hour, 1 day etc) which stays completely inside the range of the previous bar - ie the high is lower than the previous high and the low is higher than the previous low. On the same basis, an...

    ES 50 multiplier

It obviously took me more than 7 minutes to write the above!! Good thing I'm not Aphie......I wouldn't have time to eat or sleep.

    ES 50 multiplier

Mr F If I understand your question correctly..... It is simply a nominal amount set by the exchange at the time it created the contract. Different futures contracts have different multipliers, just as different company's stock has different par values (I assume you have par values in the...

    Aphie

I think, to be fair to Aphie, he got off on completely the wrong foot----admitting early on that he hadn't traded the ES, and then a few days later proceeding to advise all and sundry on how to trade it. This, quite rightly, annoyed a lot of people, and traders, probably more than any other...
