Long strangles/straddles are too expensive, you must choose calls OR puts - not both.
Short strangles/straddles are to risky - Iron Condors would be better.
The above applies to all market conditions.

IMO ..... It's best to accept the respective bid/ask to close the position - especially on expiry day. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

You are wrong about TSLA - volume and bid/ask are very good for the options. Any option trader will find lots of opportunities with TSLA options.
