Was just reading the new Fortune, some fund manager interviewed very recently, running something like a 3 billion $ fund, recommended FNM & FRE. These people deserve to be washing dishes. I'm tempted to send the fund my resume, I mean christ I am profitable and know how to pick stocks.

Most of the S&P traders who run sites are on SIM. In futures, 5% of the traders make money consistently. That 5% is the big banks and hedge funds, and some really skilled individual traders. The chatroom traders make their money from subscribers. They would just lose it back to the market...

If memory serves, Americans were buying Japanese products in the 80's (Cars). There has never been a time when jobs and American factories were shipped abroad wholesale.

We have 12% unemployment now, if you use the method of calculating it that was in place in the 80's. Same thing with inflation, it's about 10% if you use the old calculations.
