There's not enough info to tell if the system would be viable or not. Other things you need to look at... Are your assumptions for slippage correct? Always err on the conservative side. Since the system looks like its "long only" how does it test out during the bear market of 2001-2002...

If its a margin account, it will be available immediately. If its a cash account, then you can only trade stocks in the currency your account is denominated in, and yes it takes a few days for the trade to settle.

Actually a Monte Carlo analysis using past trades would probably be a better way of measuring the severity of this drawdown. -rob

I bought this monitor a few weeks ago, and its been great so far. Beware of the rebate though! The fine print says that it must be postmarked within 14 days of the PURCHASE DATE. I didn't realize this when I bought it, and the monitor took 10 days to get to me from the time I ordered it...

The HKFE should have data available on the site somewhere. I purchased tick data from there about a year ago. Also might want to try tickdata.com, last time I checked they had HSI data as well. -rob
