    Interactive Brokers intraday backfill data

Do I remember correctly that you also use Sierra? Before posting I changed the interval to 1 minute and the intraday backfill from 15 to 30 days as a test. Then I selected the delete and refresh data option. It still only downloaded 15 days though.

    Interactive Brokers intraday backfill data

I just set up Sierra Chart to work with my new IB account. I've read about IB limiting how much intraday data you can download. But I haven't read what the limit actually is.

    Iron Condors and Stupidity

I'm starting to think that ICs aren't right for me to trade since I can't seem to come up with an approach for adjusting that makes sense to me.

    Iron Condors and Stupidity

I agree that I want a measure of how good my decisions are. But how do I determine if I did the right thing a good percentage of the time if I'm not sure what the right thing is? As you said, looking back at what would have happened is useless.

    Iron Condors and Stupidity

When I consider adjustment points for an IC I can see there is a trade-off between smaller, more frequent losses and larger, less frequent losses. Is there a way to test how profitable or unprofitable various adjustment approaches are?

    Iron Condors and Stupidity

Peter Hoadley has an Excel option package that works with a variety of data sources including IB. IB has their own Excel DDE interface. I have not used it and am not sure what it provides.

    Are you trading Iron Condors?

    Iron Condors and Stupidity

With ICs how do you determine what constitutes managing risk well? I can see that never adjusting or adjusting every time the market makes a small move would be terrible risk management. In between those extremes is a large area.

What's the option cancelling fee on IB?

Does modifying the price of a limit order amount to canceling that order and creating a new one and thus incurring this fee?

    thinkorswim DDE for Excel

I've decided to do none of the above and not use TOS DDE at all.

    thinkorswim DDE for Excel

How would you use VBA to do that? Instead of the cells containing =TOS|DELTA!'.RUWCE', =TOS|GAMMA!'.RUWCE', etc I want to use =TOS|DELTA!$B1, =TOS|GAMMA!$B1, etc

    thinkorswim DDE for Excel

Is it possible to have TOS DDE get the symbol by referencing another cell? That way when I enter a new iron condor position I would only have to type the symbols in 4 cells instead of 4 x 8 = 32 cells.

Which interest rate to use when calculating greeks?

I took a look at that and it is at 2.9. Does that mean 2.9% My broker TOS is using .25%.

Which interest rate to use when calculating greeks?

Yahoo has a 13-week Tbill quote (symbol ^IRX) that I can download. The current value is .27. Will that be suitable if I divide it by 100?

Which interest rate to use when calculating greeks?

I'm not getting how my subjective interest rate fits in with calculating the delta of an option.

    Just sharing my experience

Could a broker set up their system to handle all this stuff?

Which interest rate to use when calculating greeks?

I'm creating a spreadsheet using the Hoadley add-in to help me manage my positions. What is a good source to use for the current risk-free interest? Ideally what I would like is an interest rate symbol that can be use to download the latest rate so I don't have to maintain it manually.

Trading in a foreign currency with a US broker

How does a foreign currency account work? When I put on a trade do they convert the amount needed to US dollars and then convert back when I close the trade? That would mean I end up speculating on the exchange rate for the period of the trade.
