Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

Yes that's 80% of it, I'll post a chart a bit later with the tight triangle breakdown as someone else also asked. This trade wasn't complicated, the lesson is about pressing when you have conviction. You don't see the AMC calls that list because that was Thursday. This is Fridays blotter. It...

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

To me, it means going for 5-10x+ trades and actually holding for the move.

You're right, there's probably a better term for it.

There's no right or wrong in the market, just profits.

Of course not, today was a good day but I knew the setup was there from yesterday. Good for you.

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

That brings up another thing for the new guys who will see this. There's two kinds of yolo's...educated and un-educated. When I say yolo, I mean a trade idea that can make 5-10x+ in 1-2 days using over 23 years of experience as a guide. Yolo doesn't mean a stupid bet that has 1 in 100 chance...

But, how much more? I'm trying to understand the actual risk:reward at the best price of the day...educate me. What subscribers?

    Day Trading to Multimillionairedom

Told the wife last night that today was a $100k setup, but only made $50k so kind of shitty. How is your trading going?

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

If you took this trade with a max $15k risk on the open and closed it at the low, what did it pay? Fwiw statistically Friday's are my best day of the week by 2x so everything is a yolo. I'm not interested in the safer ways to trade this setup on Th/Fri.

    Day Trading to Multimillionairedom

I gave Ken some shit (in jest) because he's been trading for over 20 years. So $40 is a rounding error if you can even call it that.

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

Nobody here is selling puts. I bought puts and sold them as the stock tanked...sorry if that is unclear.

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

It seems every post lately has someone complaining about how there are no real traders...nobody can make money...blah blah. I nailed this one pretty good, and had the entire chat to show at least some of the thought process. It should be educational for some. You can also see the GME play...

Trade both then, I also do this with my wife's IRA.

Trading out of Roth IRA while young

Good job so far. I'd take a trading stake out and pay the tax+penalty. Leave the rest of the Roth in QQQ forever, and trade the new account for living expenses from now on. Be aware that money has fallen from the sky since Jan 2020, this isn't normal. The market will die down someday...

What's the best Options routing for preserving front-of-queue / first-to-fill at a given price?

I don't know about retaining queue priority if hft are using tricks to jump you (does this exist in the options market?), but you just need to do your research on option fees and post to the one that benefits the other party to take. I have a doc from my broker that breaks these fees down, pm...

What's the best Options routing for preserving front-of-queue / first-to-fill at a given price?

I agree with the other poster that you had stale data in a possibly volatile stock. You can post your fill here and we can determine that for sure. I trade XX,000 contracts per month and never see anything fill outside.

What's the best Options routing for preserving front-of-queue / first-to-fill at a given price?

TOS says they charge 0.65/contract for options which is a terrible rate if you do any volume at all. Maybe you negotiated...?

Do any prop shops/firms have an edge?

Look up Scott Redler at T3. He successfully trades/teaches a mostly long portfolio approach.
