    Possible Etrade Fraud

Not that it helps much now, but here is a link to the SIPC about brokerage fraud. They don't help in this case, but there is some info. And a link to IB's Secure Transaction Program. They give you a identity device that would have stopped this fraud. Seems like IB is always a little ahead...

Is Ib Still The Best Deal????

For the average retail investor/trader, yes.

Type of order: advice for newby

I don't know if it is a good trade or not, but you do know that you will be obligated to buy GOOG at $270 if your short put is assigned. Even if it gets slammed down to $135 on some hidden horror story? Swallowing a $5K-$10K loss or whatever will take the shine right out of that 500 bucks...

    OIL approaching $60....

Wonder where MarketHankLutherSurfer has been? Hey 'Surfy - still got that oil short? Probably getting a bit painful if ya do, like a wipeout on some coral... Good luck. C

    Simple Options S7 Question

Yeah, but it's STILL up to 100%, just like going long the stock... I think I'm probably reading more into it than necessary.

    What was the question? :)

    Simple Options S7 Question

I'd say the answer would be "no". The purchaser of a naked long call option is not limiting his downside, only his total dollar amount loss when compared with 100 shares (or whatever) of stock. Sheesh! How do you say "yes" or "no" to option questions! :D

    Simple Options S7 Question

It's still a funky question. Of course you don't lose as much as the stock, but your loss - up to 100% if OTM @ expiry - is hardly limited if the stock drops to 0. I know they are trying to show the idea of a long call roughly being a "stock substitute" but with leverage. Still a...

    Trader P/L 2005

Thanks for the comments on your trading. 10% of the volume is about 4 million shares that you swing around daily. Do you do this with significant leverage? Just wondering because, like we all know, things happen. You load up the boat with 500K shares. Then whoops, trading is suddenly...

Nasdaq Busts and my $11,000 story

Bastards! This pisses me off because I can see it happening to me too. I occasionally get busts, but nothing as bad as you guys got on this one. There has to be some accountability on this - and not from the little traders like us who do nothing wrong. Unfortunately it would take a hellofa...

Nasdaq Busts and my $11,000 story

What a huge and unmitigated cluster-f*ck this deal is! You made a little money, but I'd feel like going thru every single transaction, wrong information and screw up, and use the $2k to get a lawyer to write some letters demanding a clear accounting of what happened and to force IB into...

My ET "Home" page is stuck on the same page from weeks ago?

Strange that it wouldn't have been refreshed by now... But clearing the IE temporary "cache" should do it. Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Files. If you tried this already and it doesn't work, you could have some spyware crap jacking your system.

    I closed my IB account

There was a new TWS version yesterday, I think, and if using the browser-based TWS it has to download a bunch o' bytes to your machine during these all-to-frequent "upgrades." The browser version always has to load some stuff, but nowhere near as much as when there is an upgrade. I've had...

MDL Capital looses $215 million for Ohio state insurance fund

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05160/518267.stm ... In Ohio, eyebrows were raised by the fact that MDL Capital's chief compliance officer is Mildred O. Forbes, daughter of Cleveland NAACP President George Forbes. The elder Forbes is also a member of the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation...

IB charge "debt interest" - what is it?

Did you get this from IB? Notification June 7, 2005 Errors in the Interest Postings for May 2005 The amount of interest due (credit or debit) to many accounts was incorrectly posted on 3 June 2005. The previous month charges/credits were repeated, rather than reporting the new...
