I don't know OTC, but I love the cl options on globex. Great liquidity almost all the time (nothing at night, and they disappear momentarily on Wed mornings). I don't think you're overlooking anything, but don't underestimate crude's ability to move several dollars/session out of nowhere.

I've been asked about this and have wondered myself. Does anyone know how to find the charts of implied volatility on various commodities? How about charts of the implied vol on specific strikes in an option chain? I feel like this is a long shot, but any insight would be helpful. Thanks

I agree, demo or not, this was not a good trade. Still something to learn from if you're new. A stop in on this trade would not have provided edge here.

Another decent idea could be to buy the Dec 14 or 15, and sell something early 2011. If the curve were to go back to contango, you could roll your nearby short every month, and maintain the long. Difficult to say when it's reached it's peak inverse too, the whole curve might go inverse the way...

They really blew out today. Dec 15 Trading less than the front month. I'm not really sure how to interpret these, but I know the whole curve can go inverted and by several dollars depending on how steep it is. I'm just perplexed that this happens with nearby supplies so plentiful. I know...

This is the deception that everyone is referring to. It is worded in such a way that one would have no idea it is only applied to 'active accts'. It bugs me that companies like this are allowed to advertise on ET. Are you reading this Baron? Aren't their better sources of advertising revenue?

I had a short Dec corn 540P expire in the money yesterday as the settle was 538.25 on the futures. We then sold 1 dec future at the close for an offset, because I assumed we would be assigned, but last nights statement and today's platform don't show it yet...Any weekend warriors around?

They are very popular. With leverage involved, or not really, you should be able to overcome those fees on commodity options on futures.
