It worked for me. It is John Foreman's site. I think he is still trying to work out some of the kinks, and perhaps too many hits going to it.

Just thought some of you may have an interest in this. The video of one of the planet's greatest traders ever, IMHO, has been posted. You have to register, but it is free. Definitely 80's, but entertaining. http://johnstradingclub.com Edit: Btw, rumor has it that he felt he gave out too...

    Pairs Trade

For those among you who trade pairs and like a little stat arb action, things have gotten a little out of whack lately as plain vanilla funds and some of the hedgies fall in love with technology stocks. Looking at the YTD returns for the S&P500 and the Nasdaq 100, we can see quite a disparity...

    Pair Trading Strategy Journal

I agree. I generally try to avoid the major announcements, even as they may be the catalyst to move a pair in my favor. In that instance, I'll wait for the pair to pull back in the ratio and put it on...you'll have a quarter to get yours without the risk.

Did my first 100 lot today

Cutten, thanks for the post. Many folks here won't appreciate the thought process as you go thru the trade after upping your size, but those that actually trade for a living know exactly what you're speaking of/ feeling. As for the meatball sjp, just please go away. You're a fucking wannabe...

    A 70k bet that I can't make a 50% gain in 2009

Dumbass, quit spamming one of the few valuable threads on ET.

+1. Hit that nail on the head.

    "listen Up" You!

Why do you start these threads? Are you needing an ego boost? Lacking attention? Dropped on your head as a child? That was just 2 minutes of my life that I can never get back reading and responding to your nonsense. No more.

    High Probability ETF Trading

Thank you, ReversionTrader. You said exactly what many always talk about and look to do in this game - find an edge, sit on your hands until that edge presents itself, then have the discipline to execute on that edge. FWIW, the OIH trade was closed today at $91.50, yielding a loss of (1.2%.)...

    High Probability ETF Trading

Depends on my bias and the market dynamics at that point in time. I actually missed the signal on this one so bought it a bit higher this morning, sold for a small loss, then bought it back this afternoon thinking 'they' would try to ramp it back to 880 SPX resistance at the close. I punted most...

John Meriwether to shut HF after losses

Funny story...While I was working at a hedge fund several years back, our managing partner who invests in many different hedge funds had this guy come in with part of 'his team.' I was allowed to sit in, as I was damn interested in hearing what they had to say, have a little bit of quant in me...

Lost 100K in one month, 50% wiped out, start to write journal

Very sound advice from NoDoji. And learn to take losses, starting now. It's all part of the game. To hold stocks hoping they come back is NOT a strategy. Punt your current positions; that will serve the purpose of getting your head out of the grinder. Then do some fundamental/technical work...

    High Probability ETF Trading

The complete set of rules for long/short trade initiation and exit are there. Because of no set stop, you will sometimes get whacked good in a trade, but that is the reason one shouldn't put their whole nut in a trade...matter of fact, no more than 5% of equity is ideal. The OIH trade is...

+1 This is one of those rare, thought-provoking and intelligent comments we read on ET. They are few and far between.

    California’s Nightmare Will Kill Obamanomics

+1 Stated simply with facts...well done. You can't fix stupid, at least not with the Obamabots.

backtesting market characteristic instead of trading strategies

I'm not sure I really understand the question completely, but if you're speaking about adding an external criteria to the specific stocks/etf's/etc that you are trading, that can be done with WealthLab, which is written in the old Pascal language. For example, say you want to only be long...

Why is the VIX so low if people are still uncertain?

LMFAO! The ignorance of some is just amazing...but always good for a laugh! You really need to read a few books and try to grasp some relatively simple concepts before posting any further. "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
