    MSO: Halted & Guilty

How does she deserve 5 years for lying about a call that she (the customer) got from her broker advising her to sell her remaining shares in a stock that she had been selling already? She deserves a slap on the wrist, it is her moron broker who deserves the jail time.

    MSO: Halted & Guilty

That might be the case, but that is not how it should be. Noone should be made so pious that the result of lying to him or her about an alledged white collar crime results in this kind of ordeal, especially when no charges are even brought on that alledged crime.

You are a successful trader and so an astute student of human behavior, therefore you must know that he is certainly reading your posts. In fact, I can almost see the grin as he reads this one.

What will be the end result of the elimation of bullets be on pro firms/traders?

So you will be able to hit bids for free along with everyone else and his uncle, so what? That just means more noise and much less choppy moves upward for the long side - hardly anything to cheer about.

What will be the end result of the elimation of bullets be on pro firms/traders?

I am so completely amazed when I read Don's recent posts on this message board pertaining to this recent SEC interpretation. This is the head of a trading firm? Who with any sanity would publicly beat his chest about deriving some new sort of scheme in which to circumvent the short sale rule...

    Don Bright..............

You say that the elimination of bullets is no big deal since there are other alternatives. Why aren't you also saying that those other alternatives (conversions) are very expensive (30-50 times so?) relative to bullets. Of course you could counter that the conversions are available to the trader...

Backtesters.. Have some fun with this

It's the same exact net result (minus an extra commission) with one acct using buy stops. If you cannot understand this simple concept, you'd better study the basics before you think about trading.

Backtesters.. Have some fun with this

Why do you need two positions or two accts??? Just put a buy and sell stop 2 points above and below the mkt instead.

With this in mind, it might also be helpful to set the color temperature to a warm setting, thus eliminating the harsh brighter whites.

    Eyes on Fire

Someone here recommended increasing the room brightness. For me it has been better to keep the room lighting almost dark, so that I can turn the brightness of the crt monitors way down. It seems to help. It also eliminates all glare and the need for screens. I still prefer the crisp sharp...

    Commodities basket

I'm no economist, but since rising commodity prices across the board means inflation, anything correlated to inflation should mimic being long a basket of commodities. Perhaps short bonds? I understand your frustrated perseverence in wanting to find something directly related to the...

    Commodities basket

Sounds like you must be bullish on Commodities long term, as Jim Rogers is. One thing you might consider if you can't find an alternitive in equities is buying a basket of stocks that are correlated to commodites, i.e. mining companies, oil services.

LottoGirl vs The Underwater Edge Boys

It looks like the exits are to be non-discretionary and solely based on fixed money management criteria. Is this criteria known now for posting or is it decided upon at the time of entry and will vary for each trade?

Nearly Random Entry vs a High Probability Entry

This does not sound random at all. It also does not sound like it would hold up well under varied market conditions.

Nearly Random Entry vs a High Probability Entry

I did not give any requirements for anyone to do anything. I only entered into this interesting discussion with the intention of putting some logical thoughts on the table. It's not hard to understand that if someone can be profitable using completely random entries with money management...
