    Does this work? Why?

Guys, i've been following this company's twitter as well and I noticed a lot of good calls in the past as well... CME, SPY, KMI, RGR etc., and being able to check the validity myself on the platform i was pretty impressed and i think I've gotten better at reading the data. Oh yeah, and they...

    Short GRPN at 4.08.

    Does this work? Why?

AA $28.37... Sold at the close. More than made up for the BLMN loss...what next? Will update. And I';ve been thinking more about this and trying to find reading material (not much out there) and it's making more sense. I've been doing kinda 'papertrades' too, looking at history in some of the...

Still 17.23... 8 days later. Caught the falling knife from the handle. But don't think I'm making money on it. So now let's try BUY ALCOA (AA) @ 26.44.

    Does this work? Why?

Did some math -- TOTALLY OVERPAID FOR THAT. Oh well. For archival purposes, let's just say I bought at 17.18 and I'm not an idiot. Looking at a 3-week timeframe or so.

    Does this work? Why?

Ok, bought 2 Oct 17.5-strike calls in BLMN at 9:45am for 0.41 ea., sold 2 20-strikes for 0.03. Alternately, "bought" at $17.18. @931, yeah, it looks really good.... just trying to make sure I'm not falling prey to some bais.

    Does this work? Why?

Ok cool. I don't know the first thing about BLMN but its dark pool chart looks pretty sexy. I'll pick up a bullish spread tomorrow. Will give deets and update on P/L. Trading at $17.10 at today close so probably getting in somewhere around there. Wish me luck.

    Does this work? Why?

Um, so I don't want to pretent to be the expert (reason I was trying to get feedback) but the blue line is called DPI (dark pool indicator) and it measures the ratio of the dark blue (buying) to the light blue ( selling) volume in dark pools. Their Short explanation -->...

Also, JCP. I think this has worked for my strategy, but I picked BAC to short instead. Both would have worked (JCP would have been better actually). Shoulda done JCP... though i was quite happy with the BAC trade. Since I need to add some long delta to my tradres I'm going to go long FE...

    Does this work? Why?

Okay, so most retail folks are "swing-trading" on momentum? That makes sense. Just not my cup o tea. I guess most folks would consider this trying to catch falling knives. Like anything right? I'll milk it till then!

    Does this work? Why?

Wat? Yeah. The point is to buy when blue line is high. What do you mean it went down? I'm talking shorter term trades here and I would have made a good deal of coin on that one just like the last black circle where my BAC spread returned 100% when it went down. Anyone else? Apparently this is...

    Does this work? Why?

I've posted before about dark pool data, but this is a bit different. I signed up for a trial of squeezemetrics.com (used it once before but it changed a lot) after spending some time trading this ("DIX", stands for dark index). Okay, maybe not "trading"... I've been using this to sell puts on...

    Dark pools

Lol. I just got an email alert about your response, went to click reply and ET told me to plz sign in or register. That site asks for a credit card, too (go figure!), but I just used one of the disposable ones like I always do online. Worked fine. You can probably email them if you don't want...

    Brief Question about Covered Calls/Puts

I'd say that starting with covered calls is a great way to begin. Maybe collars, if that seems more appropriate. Once you get a good handle on the Greeks (which I do not have), things get easier (or so they say).

    Space stock ASTC surges 80%

From what I can gather, this sort of thing is all on the fringe of legality. Not that it matters, right? Nobody's going to be caught. So I wouldn't be surprised if it's as you say... though I'm not really an expert on the who, what, how, etc., of "ignition." I suppose that it's easier in...

    Space stock ASTC surges 80%

Yeah, but at least 2.6M shares were shorted in dark pools on that big day (more than half of what traded off-exchange). That doesn't look bullish -- and neither does the price-action since then...

    ORCL

Looks like a good trade. I'd expect some downside from here, but not <$29.

How is possible to avoid uptick rule in a stock dropping >10%?

They generally fill orders at the midpoint between bid and ask, short or otherwise. So yeah, you can see plenty of short selling in dark pools even on >10% down days. Look at examples of dark pool volume and short composition on https://squeezemetrics.com -- 30-day free trial. More than you'll...
