Peter Schiff Argues We Will Have A Depression Worse Than The Last & States His Case

I remember Kudlow, in his endless Bush ass kissing, always saying that the economy was "The Greatest Story Never Told."

    Alcoa?

Gotta agree. Alcoa has hardly recouped any losses during this mini rally. Bargain hunters are providing more shorting opportunities for insiders.

    "80% of traders lose money."

A friend who owned a B/D during the daytrading craze of the 90s, also gave me the 95% stat. I'm sure some make money, but, there's too much working against the Joe Schmo day trader for the percentage to be much higher. Of course, on the internet, everyone cleans up. :D

How many accounts actively trade, and how many buy and hold?

At this point, most of the passive money is in mutual funds. These investors don't actively trade, yet, the fund managers do. So, it depends on how you would characterize mutual fund investors.

The Hell That's Coming Will Be Unprecedented

You got people in the SEC, FDA etc. who do their time in government and find themselves in their 40s with kids about to go to college. So, they don't want to rock the boat too hard for fear of jeopardizing a lucrative second career in the private sector.

What's your target for the bear rally?

No, I'm going to continue playing the short side until I see substantial evidence of a bull market. The only losing trades I've had this year came as a result of stupidly trying to time rallies.

Steve Cohen went to cash last week (at the bottom)

I read in Alpha that SEC was going from technical to primarily fundamental. Reading between the lines, Cohen is saying that his fund has gotten too big for his in and out style, and now he has to become an old school pool that accumulates at the end of bears and distributes at the end of...

    Losing All Your Possesions

While I agree with Coolweb's basic premise that we are what we make of ourselves, but luck/fate play a huge factor, especially in areas where your probablility of success is low sports/entertainment. Using myself as an example, I'm doing fairly well: Own my own apt on the upper east side of...

What's your target for the bear rally?

I don't day trade, and maybe it's different for the guys that do, but, IMO, chasing bear market rallies is a losing proposition. They tend to happen really fast. Unless you time it perfectly, you miss out, and the only way to time it perfectly is with a lucky guess. To top it off, even if you do...

Cramer calls for Dow 7700 and SP 800

Cramer was defending his July bottom call in September. When his bottom called turned out to be wrong, in his usual sleazy fashion he tried to backtrack and say that he was only talking about Fins and Housing stocks, which hadn't returned to their bottoms, yet. Of course, now that his bs...

The Coming Crash Will Be Monumental

The exchange has mastered the art of doing things that appear to be in the public interest, but are really just ways to make more money for the members. Market Makers have an exemption from the short selling rule. So, they can short all the covering taking place, then, kill demand by having...

If they ban short selling - they're idiots (IMO), but - GO LONG!!!

If short selling is banned, you can bet your arse there will be an exemption for exchange members.

Cramer on Mad Money "Dont take your money out of Wachovia"

Cramer simply has no shame. Last week I caught his show and heard him touting JOYG. At first, I thought the show was a repeat because I remembered Cramer doing the same thing several months earlier when JOYG was 80. Now, if I gave out a stock, on the basis of fundamentals, at 80, and three...

Who likes CNBC asia more than the north american one

The American CNBC seems too entertainment oriented. I tune into a business network to become more informed. If I want to be entertained, I'll go watch Seinfeld reruns.
