Even computers can't handle busy market

I buy the stock on the open @ 12.26. I don't get fill report for 3 minutes. The stock is now 13.01. I put in a market sell. I get filled 3 minutes later @ 12.30! Slow execution is deadly.

    buying this dip?

Europe down only slightly. Oil dropping. USD rising. Futures rising. Maybe a little lower on opening followed by a small rally. Or quiet opening, upward drift.

    Pabst's Blue Ribbon Trades

Late 2008 isn't that far away. Anticipation may support the market now. Also, H-Omen is also only a probability indicator that works better medium-term than short-term. So many bears right now. A 1000-point drop feels right in the current context but it seems too easy. The Fed...

1 in 4 Americans are mentally ill

I'm only 21.7% mentally ill; that's the percentage of my trades for which I can offer no rational explanation. Oddly, I do better with my irrational trading than with the trading I can support with sound logic.

American looking to move to remote Canadian wilderness

I've heard the average temperature in Toronto is minus 30 Celsius in the summer. Also, it's a well-known fact that the Eskimos, Newfies, and Royal Canadian Mounted Police are cannibals. Also, everybody up there speaks some kind of bizarre pigeon French. But the land is cheap.

Stock Market Crash in 2007 or 2009

Kondratieff based his theory on historical patterns. Once an historical pattern is noted it becomes subject to radical skewing due to anticipation. Current Fedheads are acutely aware of Kondratieff cycles and have been attempting over the past 20 years to smooth them out. It could all...

For all the moral equivalence-hampered moonbats

The invasion of Iraq was intended to create a battleground between the West and Radical Muslims in [b]their[/] territory, rather than ours. The strategy is valid except for the radicalizing effect invading a Muslim country is having on otherwise neutral Muslims. Hans

Open Borders Slime, at it again

I can't see any of those charges sticking, 28; the defense canl be "We're doing the best we can with the resources allotted to us." . Also, the structure of government is such that trying to fix blame on particular individuals would be all but impossible and, for practical reasons, you...

    The Crash of 2007

If you've got sound reasons for taking such a position, watch out; sound reasoning usually leaves you screwed. If it's just a crazy hunch you'll probably score.

Morgan Stanley Traders Lost $390 Million in One Day in August

That's exactly what my cab driver told me the other day. Isn't it supposed to be a sign of something when your cab driver says things like that?

Open Borders Slime, at it again

Technically, they are enforcing the law; they're just doing it in a completely ineffectual manner. Good luck prosecuting them for that, given that they do everything in a completely ineffectual manner.

Open Borders Slime, at it again

Australia? If you're going there you'll still have to learn another language, or at least learn how to ululate; Australia's being taken over by militant Muslims. Hans
