NinjaTrader vs OpenQuant for automated trading

Who told you OQ support is limited? :) Some people who've got their strategy fixed in an hour after they posted on SQ forums say that the support is excellent and life is wonderful, some others, with less luck, say that life sucks and SQ must die  Seriousely speaking I think we...

I'd like to think I didn't get ripped off buying OpenQuant

Well, try to get support from MS and you will find that you are entitled in one phone call to support desk with your VisualStudio license... Seriousely speaking you need to have a guaranteed support contract with well defined maximum response time, penaltee fees, etc. It's quite common in the...

I'd like to think I didn't get ripped off buying OpenQuant

As for the support issue, I would agree with you that we have provided a pretty poor support in the beginning of this summer due to vacations and business travelling. Now we are back to office and I think you have already noticed that we currently answer (well, try to answer as least) every...

I'd like to think I didn't get ripped off buying OpenQuant

Is this a question to OpenQuant or to TT or TT enabled broker like VelcoityFutures? The answer would depend on your needs, trading infrastructure, broker commission schedule, TT license you own and so on. Regards, Anton

I have a question about open quant

PS. I don't think that everyone on ET is interested in reading about details of OpenQuant strategies and, secondly, it would be much more useful to have this discussion on SmartQuant forums so that other OpenQuant users and prospects can use the forum as a knowledgebase. After all we are...

OpenQuant - SmartQuant's new product for the retail market

Hi Lou, I have forwarded your mail to on of our developers and I thought you are in the process of understanding your task... Anyway, perhaps I don't understand what you want to do exactly. You can have one instrument for a continuous contract and then several other instruments for partial...

    X-Trader and charting

Hi, you don't need to have TT FIX Adapter to trade with TT FIX brokers. OpenQuant has a built in FIX engine (QuickFIX) that will talk to your broker's TT FIX Adapter. I suggest you contact your broker, get a test FIX account and then try to run OpenQuant with TT FIX. Regards, Anton

    Integrating Qcollector and Openquant

All you need to do is to access QCollector data and then write to OpenQuant local data base. I have no idea how hard is to get data from QCollector but writing data to OQ db is done with DataManager.Add(Instrument, Quote/Trade/Bar); call. You can probably do it right in OpenQuant script...

Deciding on a Backtesting and Trading Platform

I think this thread is a shame since it's clearly a TraderStudio affiliate thread. Take a look and compare with NinjaTrader and MultiCharts to start with.... I am representing another platform which I am not going to mention here (look at my nick ;) ) but what Mr. Gyles discusses here is...

    Cost of Programmer to automate

We pay something like 3.5K after taxes, which makes ~4-5K before taxes... and this is in St.Petersburg, not in Moscow... and you should rather think about EUR since USD is a joke these days... I am afraid you should look somewhere else with your $1K

OpenQuant - SmartQuant's new product for the retail market

You can take a look at this thread on QuantHouse forums. It discusses QuantDeveloper, but I think you can do something similar with OpenQuant http://www.quanthouse.com/website/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1658 Regards, Anton

OpenQuant - SmartQuant's new product for the retail market

I think we have some rotational trading strategy example on our forums. Basically you can rank stocks in OnBarSlice event handler, maintain a list of selected stocks and then rotate stocks according to your criteria and this list. Regards, Anton
