Thanks Gotcha, http://prntscr.com/dcj76b I prefer all in on entering a trade. The link is view of what you asked for. 0 means price went the other way. Its not as detailed as it should be. The most heat, I see when entering a trade is around 10-14 ticks. I have been testing this for my...

Testing the ALL in and Scale Out or ALL Out Exit Stratgey

Thanks profitlocker, I am thinking about how I can back test. This will be BEYOND helpful for me, cause I am tired of forward testing cause its taking me forever. I intraday trade the daily pivot points, open, close, high, and low on a small timeframe using price action in hopes of catching a...

Thanks for your insight and response Overnight. Can you explain what you mean by "because you have lost sight of the goal." I definitely don't want to waste time and use my energy in a productive manner. I agree with the pre determined target. You make a good sense.

Testing the ALL in and Scale Out or ALL Out Exit Stratgey

Thank you wintergasp. Yes, this is what I have been doing, forward testing as my system depends on me drawing my own support and resistance level the day before trading. I need to figure out how to automate me calculating resistance and support level from past historical data. Thanks

Java, I agree 100% with you. I have learned my lesson about not having a plan and the lesson cost too much. Therefore, I maintain a plan before live trading. This helps removes emotions.

Thanks Low Salubrity Thug, How do I code and test? For my case, everyday I draw the support and resistance I want to trade against. Then I have a mechanical system I manually use to trade it. I am ok at coding and perform coding while in college. I use ThinkorSwim platform. Are the example...

    Over-trading versus Fear of Loss

Thanks wartrace, Yes, currently I have no plan for managing bad trades, except for taking the full maximum loss. Like you mention sometimes you just know the trade is not going in your favor, but the system/discipline states respect your stop loss. For now, I will except the max loss and...

Testing the ALL in and Scale Out or ALL Out Exit Stratgey

Thanks wintergasp, This is a good advice, because my simulations is based on forward testing as I do not know how to setup a backtesting coding. The forward testing can take a long time (maybe a month or less) I have 2 systems I am testing. 1. Resistance and support based trading and...

    Over-trading versus Fear of Loss

Thanks Handle123 Yes, my testing shows I take a loss in the morning, I can usually recoup the loss in the afternoon. However, I have been taking the loss and then ending trading for the rest of the day on most days. So, I need to stop this. Thanks,

Hello, I am sim trading a system with 3 CL contracts. I have read threads regarding the ALL IN vs Scale Out vs ALL Out exit strategy. I am not sure which exit strategy I would like to use. Therefore I will just test the best case. Is my testing for exit setup correctly? I would like to...

Thank you speedo, You and I think alike. I like your comment as it matches my thinking and takes the over-thinking out of the equation. If I see a setup, I should take it.

Thanks. I just calculated a positive expectancy (>$80) for my system for 160 amount of trades. These are sim trades of course. Is positive expectancy beneficial if taken all (partial setups or all setups) trades or does that not matter? Thanks

    Over-trading versus Fear of Loss

Thanks wartrace, Well, if I don't take alll the trades in real time, then how do I know the system works. This is my question or asking for advice. Should I take all the trades in real time or end the day when that first trade is a profit? Yes, I can calculate the trades after market for data...
