Brett Steenbarger advocates the graded use of simulation, likening it to the traders equivelant of a gymnasium. It's hard to argue with that logic. Most people aren't patient enough to put in the necessary and continual effort, though.

Format and reinstall XP. Just make sure you've got the product key and any drivers you may need to hand. Insert XP CD, reboot, follow easy on screen options, select format and install, etc. Easy peasy Japanesey. Defrag regularly, too, if you want it to stay running nice for longer. :)
