this would have no credibility and no one would be willing to accept dollars at that gold rate. ie all the gold would be driven out of the fed/treasury's hands in days. money supply has gone up much much more than ten fold in the years since the gold standard convertibility of $35 or $42/...

I have to admit this is a bit of a hunch call, and many ETers look down on these, but the chart of the ES today (21 nov) looks a lot to me like it did on 7 nov and 13 nov. sharp move down in the morning of about 15 or 20 points, then an immediate move back up, then a drift along for a half hour...
