I agree with Trajan that expiration is behind alot of this. Also I think there is some big asset allocation trades going on (out of bonds into stocks). I also think there's a mindset making the rounds that tech is underowned and about to make a turn. Whether this i true or not i have no idea...

Closing up the whole prop business. What a bunch of scumbags, they were signing up groups and taking deposits as recently as a month ago. Youwould expect this from some fly by night bucketshop but not from an Etrade.

Everybody has the same deal at Opus/Schonfeld. 20% of gross monthly, 50+% of net at year end (sliding scale based on actual numbers).

I know for a fact that Schonfeld (now Opus Trading), Generic and E*Trade don't have any official training programs going on right now but there are a few guys here and there that will offer to "train" traders for a piece of their P/L and or commissions. Obviously some are better than others and...
