The TT demo is great, because your orders will actually eat up the opposing orders in the bid/ask (ex: I buy 100 ZQ at the market when the ask size is 500, and the ask size will actually drop to 400). However, TT demo does not give you account value... just P/L on your current positions.

Not necessarily any of that. Just a chatroom that is market specific (CL, ES or ZQ) where members are discussing market moves in real time (I guess news would be a part of it). I don't need trade recs or calls.

Zumo is $.50 on all trades, and 4:1 leverage. They support almost any platform as well.

Cannon is solid, so is Ironbeam. Cons to Interactive Brokers is that their risk staff pretty much hates risk. You're not given significant leverage there, and you also can't take on some of the riskier options trades without them breathing down your neck.

Never understood how people deal with stuff like with this in regards to margin accounts. Just open a futures account. Most firms are around 4x with no additional cost or interest payments. On top of that, you don't have to deal with the pattern day trading rules either.

Right, but unless I'm mistaken, the actual trading room chat isn't very active at all.... It's noon here in Chicago, and there is only one other person in the room.

To add to Handle123's comment, there are very few programs that would work well between SPY and futures. The matching engines & data flow are completely different.

To add to all of this, even if the futures are trading below cash, the cash AND futures can both sell off (this would mean you would lose money being long the futures, regardless of whether the cash market is trading slightly above). EX You're long ES futures at 2000.00 when cash is at...

It's near impossible to accurately test a strategy in a simulated environments. Platform demos do not use the actual exchange/product-specifc trade matching algorithms, so the timing of your fills will never be extremely accurate.

TT, CQG, QST all have solid mobile applications. I generally stay away from trading mobile, your market data comes in much slower, and is nothing close to the unfiltered tick data that you get on some of the higher end trading platforms. If you're position trading then go for it, but if speed is...

One would think that it's pretty easy to find futures trading chatroom out there, but it seems there really aren't many. Does anyone have any suggestions? Seems like a great idea for someone to develop/implement if not.

You'll be hard pressed to find live futures data for free. The major exchanges raised data costs on firms over the last two years. I'm not going to name platforms, but there are a few futures trading platform demos out there that do supply live data. However, the export functions are usually...

Honestly, when it comes to futures, the more $ you have, the better it is. Accounts under $25K are pretty limited in terms of the strategies you can deploy & how you can manage & adjust your current positions.

Haha I hope for the same. I love the idea of IEX, and think its understandable that their fees are high. They're just getting started, and I doubt they're making enough money yet to provide their services at a low cost.
