    Intelligent swing trading algorithm

Pretty much my assumption too. There is no getting cute with CBOE limit orders in fast moving markets. The logic will have to revolve around market orders. Thanks for that assessment. We're definitely on the same page with that

    Intelligent swing trading algorithm

To reduce exposure, there is no other choice. I either pony up 500k to swing trade the 10 instruments, or put up 50k to trade their ATM options. Even if I gave up 1/2 the ROI the underlying offers, i'd still be happy. The uncertainty with the options lies in entry and exit slippage. It's very...

    Intelligent swing trading algorithm

It's for personal use. Not sure if you read my original post thoroughly, but the ATM option trades need to be automated based on underlying signals. Not easy to deploy. The algo needs to find optimal (liquidity, spreads) option strike prices as signal is received.

    Intelligent swing trading algorithm

Ok, so I’ve engineered a model that swing trades around ten sector ETF’s, with statistically significant sample size trading both sides of the market, all with good liquidity, 20-30% annual returns. I can automate all the signals successfully, but the exposure and correlation risk is a big...

Well nooby. Good luck with your little project here. Taking a furlough from ET for a while. Maybe I’ll start up a gambling journal later this year. Peace out.

How do you deal with earning?

Yes, this. Position sizing and diversification can help, but still doesn’t solve the risk/reward problem with that style of stock trading. You simply can’t get a good handle on the math. One bad blow can wipe out months of gains. Best swing trading products are major indexes and sector ETF’s...

How do you deal with earning?

Unless you’re a long term investor, or have inside info, holding overnight through earnings is pure gambling.

    What About Linux?

That’s why I still run W7. I disabled updates years ago, but it’s a dedicated trading machine. Theoretically I could run this forever, but I’d guess that W10 would be more efficient at some point. Your profile says “Jimmies status:Rustled”. We talking Jimmy Hoffa here? Lol

    What About Linux?

Have you tried working with Excel within Linux? I have a stand-alone Java App that extracts Excel data once a day. Currently using W7. Was always curious how it would run in Linux to IB TWS.

What a stand up guy. I've watched a few of your videos Kevin. You're definitely a straight shooter. Since we're sharing, I have like 20-30 EasyLanguage files coded by multiple developers from back in the day, which I think can help neophytes build trading logic principles. If anyone wants them...
