Is TWS able to make option orders based on underlying price?

I assume you're talking about TraderWorkstation from Interactive Brokers. The latest version allows you to enter conditional order for option trades that are based on the underlying stock. For example, today I went long IWM put options, and then set a conditional order to close out the long...

Play a Yield Curve Steppener w/ Treasury Bond/Note Futures?

For the knowledgeable traders out there, how would you put on a trade using 30-yr bond and 2-yr note treasury futures if your view is that the yield curve is going to steepen? What would be the proper ratio between the 2 (using ECBOT bond futures) so that I am delta neutral hedged if the...

Interesting Action in Overnight GLOBEX EUR Currency Futures

Plunged from 1.3620 to 1.3585 in 10 minutes. Wonder if this has anything to do w/ the factor that 3m LIBOR is scarily high vs gov't T-Bill.

Wci Icann And Sac Have Huge Positions

This discussion has been rehashed on the Yahoo WCI board $12 dollars higher and 2 months ago. For a more realistic appraisal of WCI, see below: http://www.treasure-coast.us/weeklyupdate08-25-07 Icahn was talking to the mgmt's hand when mgmt was stupid enough to reject Icahn's $22...

    AFter-Hours Futures Falling

Curious thing is....the after hrs US futures are trading in tandem w/ the Asian futures. It's bee "decoupled" for the past couple months since the February scare. Sure picked a good time to correlate back to +1

    AFter-Hours Futures Falling

Fascinating, happening again (11:33pm).....print 767.10 on ER2. Knowing how illiquid it is at this hour, why? I just have this bad feeling about tommorrow. Maybe it's nothing. But after all the freaky news this morning, it just seems ominous. Unless the futures make a dramatic comeback...

    AFter-Hours Futures Falling

Hard to tell if it was a margin call (somebody got raped), or if somebody knew something. I typically trade the ER2 russell 2K minis, but you're right, it's across the GLOBX complex, even Copper took a couple.

    AFter-Hours Futures Falling

Guys, something is going on. Check out GLOBEX, at about 11:18pmEST, there was bunch of bids being hit, Russell 2000 mini's dropped from 771 (already 10pts below fair value) to 767 in 4 minutes on a couple hundred contracts.

TraderCJ, I agree w/ you. This being an anonymous board, it is impossible to stop juvenile taunts and immature rants. I do respect the people who are willing to risk humuliation and share their experiences w/ others so others can learn.

I may be wrong on this...I don't believe the Chinese markets can be shorted -- it is against the law to short stocks. If it is true one can NOT short stocks in the Chinese markets, it'd make an interesting spectacle when all the sheep decide to sell, and there's no one left to buy or cover...

Grasberg Strike Settled, Copper Pricing Heading South?

Perhaps I spoke too soon.....around 1pm the Shanghai market started to sell off. GLOBEX dropped in tandem... from about 3.62 to stabilizing around 3.58 bid 3.59 ask. As usual -- impossible to enter at a good price.

Grasberg Strike Settled, Copper Pricing Heading South?

Not much action in GLOBEX Sunday night. Shanhai market is up though, so at least Shanghai didn't think the Grasberg situation is bullish or bearish. Perhaps the strike settlement is already baked in.

Grasberg Strike Settled, Copper Pricing Heading South?

Just saw Bloomberg message 35 minutes ago (Saturday morning). Sunday evening should see some fireworks at least on GLOBEX HG July 07 contracts. Shanghai copper market should be interesting as well. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601080&sid=aHKeAqWEoUEY&refer=asia Does Copper...

    Windows 2000 vs XP

Do yourself a favor by having 2 gigabytes of RAM when you run Windows XP Professional. The real memory footprint of XP Professional is about 600MB -- i.e., the amount of memory it takes to completely load the OS into memory. 2GB is necessary if you want peak peroformance from XP & your trading...

    $xau, $hui, $gox

Gold stocks own gold mines. Gold mines require energy resources to dig the stuff out of the ground. If gold price goes up 15%, but diesel goes up 30%, the mine's profit margin has just compressed. In other words, gold stocks do not necessarily do well when there's rampant energy inflation...
