So.... The windows 7 disk gives me "windows loading" then boot menu on my dell but says "64 bit OS not capatible wit this cpu" No kidding, but at least that shows the disk isn't the prob, so maybe something with ram, maybe need to tweak bios for this particular ram? 1600Mhz (3) 2 gig sticks...

This may be a dumb question but would I find that under Basic Bios, Advanced Bios, or Peripheral for it to list the drives in there numbered sata slots? Should that be in IDE config?

Update: Was the typical registry value problem, mine was actually no value instead of usually being 1, I changed it to 0 anyhow and that was it.

Still using the Dell for internet and webinar stuff while the new comp will be running all the new mons, just trading. Question is I have 2 cards in the Dell 8400 and the 6800 still gives the dualview option (connected to 2 of the new 22"s st2210) but the 6200 will not display that option...

Basically got this for free but it is missing the external controller that slides in a bay in the front of the case. Missing the wires that connect to the controller as well. Have the fan, heat pipes, radiator assembly, cpu cooling plate etc.. just no controller. Any way I can hook up another...

Everything is here (i7 930 processor, Thermaltake, 850watt corsair, except the ram (in the mail) and have to order the mobo from EVGA and it is $50 cheaper that way instead of going thru compusa. Then ready to jam!

basically I just seperated the 2 laptops and their monitors and wired the "good" laptop's screen to the "bad" laptop's mobo and got the same grainty flickering screen. The monitor that is connected to the ext plug to allow dual screens has a perfect picture so it must be something with the...

Also, just took another Dell laptop and pulled the keyboard so could hook its monitor (which is fine) to the bad monitor's mobo and the screen on the good monitor is doing the same thing, while the seperately connected monitor is fine. So tested bad computer with good monitor=same results.

Ok, so I did a little test. Hooked up another monitor to the laptop on th output and the other monitor is clear as day. That leads me to think the screen on this laptop is the issue. Any thoughts on that? Edit: sorry about the ADD in this thread. That was the initial concern but I have fixed...

Anybody have the wire connecting the screen to the board come loose causing this? just a thought?
