    Investing Journal - T2S

Wanted to post an interesting comparison. One picture is my roth which I trade more frequently and one is my taxable account which I do more long term trades. I try to limit my trades in my taxable to avoid paying more taxes than necessary. However, I may need to re evaluate as the out...

    BBRY halted

http://business.financialpost.com/2013/08/12/blackberrys-bank-account-and-patents-likely-worth-more-than-keeping-the-company-alive/ Is one of many articles. Obviously I havent looked at BBRY's books myself so I guess its all open for interpretation. But it's pretty widely accepted that...

    BBRY halted

it's an interesting one, if BBRY liquidated right now it would be worth 18 a share, but the problem is they keep bleeding all the assets they do have. They should just go out of business and cut everyone an 18$/share dividend and call it good. Looks like they will just slowly bleed whatever...

Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Mints Another Billionaire

I'm not looking at just the BRK'A article. Im talking about wealth in general. And to answer your question I quoted. that's like asking if someone who plays in the minor leagues is less worthy then someone that plays in the MLB...Depends on how you define worthiness.

Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Mints Another Billionaire

also, i wouldnt consider a billionaire hedge funder making his money from trading, lets face it he's an asset manager and made his money from managing other people's assets. I mean specifically made billions *just* from trading.

Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Mints Another Billionaire

sorry i thought it went without saying when i said trader. under that definition even an investor would be a trader since he places trades once in a while

Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Mints Another Billionaire

I read this post this morning too. Curious why people trade instead of invest. Investing has produced so much more wealth for individuals then trading has. Can anyone name any billionaire that became a billionaire from trading? It makes me wonder why so many people aspire to be "traders"...

Selling out of the money puts with low risk

I am positive I don't pay any margin interest. Could just be my brokerage but I've been doing it for a while and dont get charged. I also only sell puts on very blue chips companies, my portfolio also owns very blue chip companies. I would not have had a margin call in 2008.

Selling out of the money puts with low risk

let me just add my 2 cents because I do a little of this myself. What is do is sell the puts on margin. I'll give an example. If my account has 100,000 I will invest the 100,000 in the exact kind of companies you mentioned and then sell puts on 50,000 of margin on those stocks I want to...

Account balance: $65,231 Deposits: $43,000 Had a pretty great week. My top 4 holdings all reacted quite well this week. Those 4 being DLR, IBM, CAT, PM. Unfortunately even with the big week in all 4, I'm just barely green in CAT and IBM and I'm still slightly red in DLR and PM. So still...

AAPL is now lower than when Carl Icahn made his infamous tweets.

what's the least popular trade on AAPL righrt now? In my opinion it's sideways. I'm selling volatility on AAPL. Everyone seems to think its either going straight down to 300 or straight up to 600-650, my guess is it does neither and it starts a long trend of consolidation.

Account balance: $62,367 Total Deposits: $42,000 August was slightly better then July. I am now ahead of SPY for the third quater. My return for the quarter so far is 0.84% while the SPY is 0.10%. Not exactly exciting stuff but keeping in mind I did 12.7% vs SPY 2.91% in the second...

Bank of America intern dies from overwork at 21

That's not true you can cold call without a license. If someone agrees to an appointment then you have to hand it off to a licensed individual. You just can't talk about specific securities or investment options. but you can cold call all day long. My firm hires many interns for that exact...
