Id like to get to the bottom of fib trading. Which level do we measure? What time frame? What is convergence and why does 61.5 mean its over? What the heck is a gartley and its sister butterfly. Leave gann and elliot at home and gimmie something I can trade. No big dissertation about merits...

Late- I too have seen the spike compression on oanda and would agree that a stop hit without price would be a hard sell; especially if you are using the oanda charts on the oanda platform. I have seen that sort of thing with the Refco-Esignal set up though. The ES price sort of correlates...

Im not trying to be cute but the percentage will occurr at the point of support or resistance. alot of times it will be at the 50% level (which is not a fib number anyway). I dont often buy or sell there, but there is no doubt the market reacts there often despite the absence of some other s/r...

fib and gann are two different things. i might agree with some of the neg comments regarding the latter but the study of strip'd fib retracements and extentions are more than a worthwhile endeavor. lets dont throw the baby out with the bath here.:D btw the market can do anything - at any time.
